I am sure this topic has been covered in the past, but I am unable to find the thread.

I have compressed my music on the b2 using the flac+mp3 option; I now wish to copy those mp3 files with the album artwork to the bb1 and I have not been able to do this. As a test I uploaded a portion of my b2 backup to the bb1 it only included the flac files. The bb1 then spent a very long time converting the flac files to mp3. This is the information from the b2:
 Software Version B2B Oct 22 2021 12:29:15
7041 tracks in 528 albums 267 artists
0 WAV 7041 FLAC 0 MP3 0 AAC
Capacity 2000.00G Used 168.56Gb
USB 0 tracks in 0 albums 0 artists
0 Youtubes

My bb1 has a 256gb sd card with software version:  Oct 8 2021 12:27:39

Thanks in advance for the help,
Glenn

When you've used the FLAC+MP3 compression method on your B2, you need to use the Export MP3s command (from the Playlist menu) to copy them to a USB stick.  Then you can Import them onto your BB1.

So I have to add everything I want to export to a playlist?  Is there a way to create a bulk playlist, otherwise it is a tedious process adding the files.

I don't think you have to create a playlist.  It's just that the command is found on the Playlist menu.  Someone please correct me if that's wrong.

I have never done this but there is this information on the Brennan Web site
a.JPG

This is the link to the post above

Reading it, it is ambiguous - first it says
" The B2 has an ‘Export MP3’ function that is then used to copy selected (or all) of the mp3 Mirror files to a USB device and these can then be played on other mp3 devices."

Which would imply that you could just use it to get the entire mirror catalogue
BUT
It then goes on later to say
"
(e) Select the playlist that you have assigned in step (b), in this case the Red playlist.

(f) Repeat steps (c), (d) and (e) until you have selected all the required artists, albums and tracks.

(g) From the front panel knob, go to Main > Playlist Menu > Export MP3s and click on this.

(h) An incrementing count will be displayed in the lower left front panel display, this is the Export MP3 function copying the .mp3 music to the USB device."

So I think geter ... is correct you do have to build a playlist.

I was wondering if the MP3 mirror would be visible from the B2's NAS. If so then you could use this to get the entire thing quite easily.

Hi Glenn

Martin Brennan here.

Is there a way to create a bulk playlist?

Yes - you can quickly create a playlist with everything in it

Create a new playlist - say "everything" - using the three dots and Create new Playlist in the playlist tab on the web UI
Click on the three dots again and select Combine Playlists
Select Append, All Music and "everything" in the three dropdown buttons - then hit OK

Voila it creates a playlist with everything in it.

If necesssary you could subtract stuff you don't want using the same procedure. Say you had a playlist called "Talking books" you could remove those from the everything collection if you just wanted music.

NB the All Music mechanism creates a playlist of artists - but that doesnt mean you cannot subtract individual albums or tracks. B2 will expand artists to albums or tracks as necessary and then do the subtraction. Its quite clever really.
