Just a note, I recently bought a Brennan BB1, what a nice piece of kit, however I was running on batteries and all of a sudden the BB1 was not responsive, screen kept switching off etc..., checked the batteries and they where flat! Only been in for 3 days with the BB1 on for about 2 hours per day, not good.
Apart from using the mains connection, any suggestions?

Cheers, Dean.

If you do a search in this forum for “BB1 battery pack” you will find many suggestions from previous postings.
One mentioned a USB Powerbank.

Hope this helps

Hi Dean,

3 days at 2 hours per day is about right.  All of the latest generation devices like DAB radios, etc.) eat batteries like there is no tomorrow because they have microprocessors, memory, WiFi capability, etc. all of which use a lot of power.  The BB1 is no different to them.

I run a BB1 on LIthium rechargeables, rated at 3000mAh.  This give a charge life of about 9 hours but at least I can recharge and use them again.  They recharge in about 3 hours.  Later on I bought a 20,000 mAh Lithium rechargeable pack which I have velcro taped on the back of the Brennan.  This does about 55 - 60 hours.  The output of the power pack is a 'USB A' port, and I use a 'USB A' to 'USB Type C' cable and plug that into the BB1.

Regards,
Peter.

Hi All,

I use spare aa alkalline batteries with my BB1 and all good.  However I tried some spare Lithium AA Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries and it doesnt even switch on.    Is there a setting in the menu that I should tell the BB1 I am goign to use LIthium batteries.

Cheers and still loving my BB1 !

Hi Ross,

There is no battery setting on the BB1. It will power down if the battery voltage falls too far.

HI Paul,

It could simply be the battery is below 5v as I use them before for work anyway.  Ok thanks

Not cheap, but rechargeable LITHIUM AA batteries are the answer, these last much longer than any alternative and produce 1.5v until nearly flat, they are also fit the BB1 much better than high capacity Ni-MH alternatives.

Something like these should fit the bill
