I guess this has been answered many times, but I can’t find a quick answer.
Will somebody please tell me why I can’t run Spotify on my PC and punch through the Brennan using LibreSpot? Not without an iPad, I can’t.
What I mean is that Spotify can’t see the Brennan unless I set up the link using my iPad!
Why do I need to own an iPad in order to do this?
Is there something on the Spotify setup that I need to invoke!?
Bob.

I only used Spotify for a short time via my B2, then got a dedicated streamer, but both my Fire tablet and an old iPad I have recognised the B2 in the list of available playback devices.

It might be worth uninstalling and reinstalling the Spotify app. I found tracks were stuttering badly when I first used Spotify with the B2/Librespot. Reinstalling the app solved that and it all worked very smoothly after that - could be worth a try.

Hi Bob,

my experience is that B2 can be seen in the list of devices for Spotify Connect but is not usable.
The screenshot is from the  Spotify Windows app running on my PC

My IPad similarly cannot play to the B2 but says that I need a Spotify premium account to use it but I don't have one.

My amp/receiver, Yamaha RN303 , is DLNA enabled, so I stream from PC to that.

I suspect its something related to the UPNP/DLNA services running on the B2.

My reply assumed a paid Spotify account: the Brennan website says it's needed for Librespot.

Hi Davy,
when I originally bought my Yamaha, the documentation said that I would need a premium account for Spotify connectivity to work and I can't recall ever trying it with my free account. Its only recently whilst experimenting with DLNA on my network that I tried to connect with my free account and it worked :)
Spotify seem to have dropped the frequency inter-song ads and they seem to have made some changes to what they term Spotify Connect.
Whether I will hit some time limit on streaming  remains to be seen

John
