The USB disk MUST be formatted as FAT32 - no other format will work.  Most recent computers do not have native software to handle that format, but the B2 can.  When the B2 first sees the USB disk, if the disk is not already formatted correctly, the B2 will act like it isn't there.  Just go ahead and run the Format USB C (or A) command (Maintenance menu).

The music files on the USB disk must be organized in a structure that looks like this:  music\Artist\Album\tracks.  Then, with power off, plug the USB disk into a port on the B2.  After the B2 has gone through its powerup routine, run the Import from C (or A) command (USB menu).  The names of the songs being copied will flash on the front panel display as it proceeds.

Some larger USB disks require more power than the B2 can provide on USB C, so try USB A which has more.  But if the disk still more power (and is not self powered from the main AC) then you'll have to get a powered USB hub to plug between the B2 and the USB disk.  I just use a USB stick, which works fine in either USB port.
