New Forum 2022

Hi All

Martin Brennan here. We have just created a new forum at thebrennanforum.com.

This forum will remain visible for the forseeable future but you should post questions on the new forum.

The new forum has a number of important features that wil make finding answers much easier. (Some of the features were originally available on this Google forum - but were retired by Google).

You will have to sign up to the new forum but the process is automatic so you will be able to post new questions without waiting for approval.

The new forum will allow us to pin definitive or "golden" answers so that they are easier to find. So the new forum will become a far more useful reference for Brennan owners.

May I suggest the new signup page include double entries for email and password just to make sure they are typed correctly?

I’ve tried 4 times to register but not received a single verification email and, yes, I have checked my junk folder. I don’t know if it matters but I used a different email account to the one I am registered with on here.

Given that the Brennan employees are supposedly no longer checking this forum, they probably won't respond to your issue.

Registering for a new forum on a different platform should not care what email address  you used elsewhere (i.e., here). But it might be seen as spam or junk by your other email account -- I know you checked your junk folder but is your email forwarded through a different system that might have its own filtering? Does your email address (the other one) have any special characters or oddities that the new forum software might not like?

You can always try again if you want to change your email address there -- perhaps you should try subscribing with the one that worked here.

for those that have struggled, I just signed up in seconds - worked first time and I have an especially picky e-mail system, so if its not working its worth trying again. the system seems to be working

This Google forum has been running for some years and now constitutes a sizeable information database of material value to Brennan users wishing to access information on Brennan issues - so what will happen to all the threads here:

1. will they all be migrated to the new Brennan forum?

2. or will they remain here and continue to be accessible by users who wish to access/search them for subjects of interest?

3. or will they all be deleted and, if so, when?

We will still check this Forum from time to time as it will take a while to get the new Forum up to speed. But please try to post any new items on the new Forum page - https://www.thebrennanforum.com/

The information on this site will still be visible but may not be updated.

We are planning to have a 'knowledge base' on the new site with 'How To Articles' etc.

Ha!  My firm's system blocks the new forum under its Acceptable Use Policy.  Must be something dodgy going on at brennanforum.com  :-)

have a word with your IT department. A lot of the software that manages website usage do so by category and the new forum may just be too new to have been categorized.

There should  be able to add it as an exception.
