Is There A Solution For Getting The Kinect v2 To Actually Work In Windows 8.1? (I tried Windows 10 & discovered that Win 10 is worthless for serious techies - it's more of an office novelty really)...

I have checked - researched - & checked some more - & researched even more - & checked some more - & researched even more - & checked some more - & researched even more - & on & on the rabbit hole goes - & still I cannot find a solution for getting the Kinect v2 to work.

Brekel v2 works just fine, but it can never find the Kinect v2 - even though my PC sees the Kinect v2 device, claims it has all the most current & up to date drivers installed. I keep getting a USB 3.0 error, yet all my other USB 3.0 devices work perfectly - I even ordered & installed a special USB 3.0 card & have it plugged into the Blue 3.0 PCI slot - & still no luck. I've installed all the SDKs, Drivers, Apps & fixes available on the internet & STILL NO SUCCESS!

When I run the Kinect Configuration Verifier I get red X's for the USB Controller & Verify Kinect Depth and Color Streams.

My PC is a $6,600.00 beast with an EVGA GTX 970 4G - Tesla K20 - Dual Monster i7 Processors with badass heat syncs - a 1200 Power Supply - 64 GIGs of RAM - & 2x 10,000 RPM SSDs...It has ALL of the specified configuration requirements & upgrades required for the Kinect v2 to work. All this so I can get an animation diploma with a BANG!

Has anybody found a solution to this issue?

PLEASE HELP - I NEED THIS SOFTWARE FOR MY FINAL ANIMATION PROJECT TO GRADUATE!!!

It seems the Configuration Verifier points out the problem, your USB chipset.

The Kinect v2 drivers only officially support Intel and Renesas USB3 chipsets as others have proven to not be able to deliver the sustained high bitrates used by the Kinect v2 sensor.
Sticking in a PCI-E card with such a chipset should make things work on your machine on Windows 8/8.1/10

For more information regarding hardware (and direct support from Microsoft staff) you can find lots of info in the official Microsoft forums:

It is an old thread, but maybe other guys have same problem. I installed pro body v2 a few days ago. I have an Intel chipset for USB 3. It shows me it could be incompatible. No streams. I pretty new PC. On my older notebook a got the same message about the USB 3 , but the streams were there. I didn't find a solution here and at the microsoft site. I was thinking about to buy an extra USB card with a working chipset. There was no need for this. If you have trouble with the USB3 with kinect or other USB3 hardware, then disable in UEFI/Bios under USB3 the "legacy support". Sometimes this support can make trouble with some hardware. It still shows you about incompatible chipset, but if you have luck you'll get the stream. Now it works perfect.
