I installed the PointCloud Pro v1.55 Demo and successfully recorded and exported a point cloud animation. Very gratifying, I must say.
Unfortunately, after installing an other program (KScan3D) I can no longer access the Kinect in PointCloud Pro.  I tried a full re-install of PointCloud Pro including kinect SDK and drivers, but with no success.  The kinect remains accessible in the KScan3D software, and still shows up in Device Manager, but it's using the PrimeSense driver installed with openNI as part of the KScan3D installation.  Any idea what I need to do to get PointCloud Pro to be able to detect the Kinect?

Hi Scott,

It sounds like KScan3D installed a second set of Kinect device drivers (OpenNI) without warning you.

When you have 2 sets of drivers for one piece of hardware (official Microsoft drivers, and OpenNI drivers) Windows will have to decide which ones to use when trying to talk to the hardware.
Most probably it will use the last installed.

To get Pro PointCloud working again you'll need to uninstall any references to OpenNI, PrimeSense and/or SensorKinect from the Windows Control Panel, or maybe KScan3D can uninstall it cleanly for you.
You might also need to reboot and/or reinstall the official Microsoft Kinect drivers (for example by ticking the box in the Brekel installer to auto download/install it), but then it should work again.

Greets,

Thanks. Thought probably it was that. Will try in the morning.

Uninstalled the PrimeSense (OpenNI) drivers and restarted.  PointCloud Pro can now find the Kinect.  Of course KScan3D can no longer find it.  Guess maybe these programs will have to run on different machines.
