Multiple Kinect Support

Hi! 

I am thinking about purchasing brekel pro pointcloud v1 but would like to know how many kinects it can control simultaneously. I would like to record a point cloud with upwards of 9 Kinects.

Hi Lee,

Pro PointCloud v1 supports only a single sensor.

However if your machine's hardware supports the bandwidth and compute power for more than one Kinect v1 sensor (note you may need to install more PCI USB cards) you can simply start the application more than once.

It will detect if there are multiple sensors connected and allow you to select which one the app needs to connect to and use.

You can use the "Remote Triggering" functionality to synchronize filenames and start/stop recording signals between multiple Brekel apps running on the same machine or on multiple machines across a network.

Note that for this workflow you will need to align and fuse the data externally in your preferred 3D apps.

Also note that due to the way these depth sensors work that there will be interference between overlapping sensors.

I saw in one of your YT videos that you aligned multiple sensors in one instance of the software. Or was that V2? If so, does V2 work with Kinect 360s?

That's for v2, which supports the Kinect for Windows v2 and Kinect for XBox One sensors.

And it only supports one kinect v2 at a time?

Yes, but that's a general restriction of the v2 sensor & drivers.
