TheXerox product compatibility document lists various Xerox Office and Light Production products regarding the Xerox Driver compatibility and availability. The table refers to a compatibility level for each product. It will be updated periodically as Xerox releases new macOS Ventura-compatible device drivers.

On macOS 13 Ventura, Apple has changed how Xerox features are accessed. The print dialog has been completely redesigned and the features are listed vertically. However, due to all these changes, Xerox has identified an Apple issue on macOS 13 which results in missing Xerox features if driver version is 5.10.0 (or prior).

If you have questions, please search the online knowledgebase for your product, reach out to your local support centre or post a question on the Xerox Community Support Forum.

Operating Systems Compatibility: As listed in section "Minimum System Requirements". This scanner is not compatible with Windows Me or Windows 98. Support for Windows 2000 has ended with OneTouch version 4.5

Auto Check for Available Drivers & Software

Visioneer Update will automatically detect your scanner and check for the latest drivers and bundled software. You may choose to use Update or you may download only the driver and software you need from the links below. Be advised that many of the bundled software packages can only be downloaded through Visioneer Update or the installation DVD. For technical support, please contact us.

Visioneer OneTouch is a utility that connects scanner buttons with pre-selected destinations (and/or applications) and allows you to scan into these destinations by simply pressing one button. Destinations can include your email,Word processor, printer or simply a file folder.

We often hear from new customers looking to test PaperCut or existing customers intending to upgrade their fleet of printers who want to know if PaperCut will work with a specific model or brand or print driver. Given the sheer number of printer brands, models, and drivers out in the world it would be a herculean task to put together such a list. Instead, this page tries to answer that question by looking at the languages that printer manufacturers use to encode print jobs, like PostScript, which is a much better indicator of compatibility with PaperCut.

Are you more interested in whether a particular printer or copier supports installation of the PaperCut embedded app for Secure Print Release, authenticated copying, and Integrated Scanning? Then our network of PaperCut Authorized Solution Centers is on hand to assist and advise on suitability.

PaperCut is a vendor neutral print control/tracking solution. This means you are not locked into any particular type of hardware or manufacturer. For the purposes of tracking print jobs, PaperCut works with the majority of modern print devices including those supporting printer Page Description Languages (PDLs) such as:

All common connection methods are supported, including USB, LPT Port, TCP/IP (ethernet network printers), standard LPR port, standard TCP/IP ports, and JetDirect. Where possible we recommend networked printers (i.e. one with an ethernet port).

Brother printers supporting PCL and PostScript are supported. Some models using proprietary drivers (e.g. XL2HB) currently only are supported to a limited extent (e.g. BRMFC9840). Due to a non-standard driver output our page counting ability on certain low end Brother devices is impacted. This includes the HL-5470, HL-5450 and HL-2250.

Note December 2009: The Mac driver for the MFC-8500 uses a proprietary and undocumented printer language and is currently not supported. There has been 1 request for adding support for this printer.

Canon laser printers and copiers work with PaperCut. The majority of Canon BubbleJet printers are compatible. Canon UFR is an undocumented proprietary language and driver updates have been known to cause issues, however regular PaperCut updates (see below) offer continued support.

Note Feb 2009: Color detection on the Canon iPF500 range using the Canon UFR driver is not currently supported. If using the advanced client, consider using the charge rates feature to account for color printing costs instead.

Note Oct 2008: Upgrade to PaperCut version 8.5+ for improved support for Canon GARO based printers on the Mac. There are still some known issues with manually canceled jobs but general page account and costing works as normal. (Come on Canon, get your Mac drivers up to scratch!)

The current range of AcuLaser, AL, and EPL mono and color laser printers are fully supported by PaperCut. Please ensure the very latest drivers are installed. The majority of inkjets produced over the last 8 years supporting ESC/P2, ESC/PAGE and ESC/PAGE-COLOR will work. On some older inkjet printer models it may not be possible to detect paper size.

If you do wish to take this approach then PaperCut will co-exist with Fierys if you ensure that the server printer prints via the RIP and the workstations print via the server queue and not direct to the RIP. In Mac environments, some special configuration may be required.

Gestetner supply a number of driver alternatives with their high-end printers, copiers, and multifunction devices (e.g. DSc338), usually including PCL5 and Postscript. PaperCut Software has tested recent releases of the Postscript and PCL drivers and found these are compatible. We recommend the use of Postscript drivers over other options such as RPCS or PCL.

Note December 2017: HP printers on a Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016 print server: Fixed an occasional issue that caused an incorrect number of pages to be reported when printing multiple copies.

Note February 2009: The HP Photosmart C6100 series with PCL5/HP-GL drivers does not currently support page-level color detection. Please use standard color detection (the default) instead.

Note March 2008: PaperCut releases prior to 8.2 had some problems with copy count detection with recent HP LaserJet 4700dn drivers. Upgrade PaperCut to fix this problem, or contact support for assistance.

Note Dec 2007: Added improved support for duplex detection on the IBM Infoprinter range (e.g. IBM Infoprinter 1357). Upgrade to version 8.0 or newer to take advantage of the improved detection.

Most Konica-Minolta devices offer multiple driver options, all of which should be compatible with recent versions of PaperCut. As for other brands we recommend the PostScript or PCL drivers where available.

Note June 2017: Classic Universal KPDL driver - Fixed an issue when printing in booklet mode, that incorrectly detected total page count, color page count, page size and duplex as simplex.

Note Dec 2007: Recent driver updates in the Kyocera FS range (e.g. Kyocera FS9520DN) introduced issues with duplex detection. Upgrade to version 8.0 to resolve duplex detection issues

Lanier supply a number of driver alternatives with their high-end printers, copiers, and multifunction devices - usually including PCL5 and PostScript. PaperCut Software has tested recent releases of the PostScript and PCL drivers and found these are compatible. We recommend the use of PostScript drivers over other options such as RPCS or PCL.

Note Sep 2009: The Lexmark C500N uses a proprietary, undocumented printer language and is not currently supported by PaperCut. We have currently had 1 request for adding Lexmark C500N printer support.

All high-end Minolta-QMS lasers work with PaperCut. Use the PostScript driver option if available. Some low to mid-end Minolta lasers such as the Magicolor 2300 DL (Minolta 2300DL) use a host based GDI driver based on technology from Zenographics. Users running early versions of PaperCut should update to the latest version to ensure full support for this and other Minolta printers.

Oc printers and copiers support PostScript. Some Oc drivers use a proprietary header to set document attributes such as copy count, duplex, etc., which is supported by PaperCut but subject to change by Oc. PaperCut will work with most of the Oc wide-format devices, including custom support for selected proprietary CAD printing output.

Olivetti supply a number of driver alternatives with their multifunction devices - usually including PostScript. PaperCut Software has tested recent releases of the PostScript and PCL drivers and found these are compatible. We recommend the use of PostScript drivers.

PaperCut supports both RISO PostScript and GDI drivers. Support for RISO GDI drivers was added in version 9.3. The GDI drivers used with the RISO HC3R-HC5500 will require PaperCut version 10.0 or higher.
