Downloadand install the 7.1 Surround Sound software and use the activation code that came with your purchase. You will need a Razer ID to activate the software. Currently, the activation code is included with a purchase of the following products using a scratch card that comes with the package or by registering the product through Razer ID:

Perform a few troubleshooting steps if you experience sound issues on your Razer headset including hissing, static, or buzzing while 7.1 Surround Sound is enabled. See the answer below for detailed instructions.

It is not necessary to remove the Razer Surround/Surround Pro, you can use either software. We recommend using the 7.1 Surround Sound and disable or turn OFF the Razer Surround/Surround Pro especially if you are using the Kraken (2019), Kraken X, or newer analog headset for better surround sound experience.

The activation code can only be used once, and it will be tied to your RazerID. This allows you to install the app on any system and keep your license. After the activation, the 7.1 Surround Sound does not require an internet connection to function.

5.1 and 7.1 audio can help you identify where certain enemies are in relation to your character, and provide environmental sounds for a more immersive experience. You can also output 5.1, 7.1, and even Dolby Atmos audio for Blu-ray discs on your PS5.

The PS5 supports 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, whether you're using an AV receiver with dedicated speakers or a sound bar system with rear satellites. It does not support Dolby Atmos in games or apps like Netflix, though it does allow Dolby Atmos bitstreaming for Blu-ray playback. (See the next section.)

Head to Settings > Sound > Audio Output and change the HDMI Device Type to AV Amplifier. (If you're using a soundbar with surround speakers, you'll still want to select AV Amplifier instead of Sound Bar, since the latter option doesn't seem to offer surround output.)

Once you've done so, you should see new settings become available underneath, allowing you to set the number of speakers you have. Once you've done that, you can select Adjust Speaker Positions to tell your PS5 where those speakers sit in relation to your listening position. This will help the PS5 better pinpoint sounds as you move around in-game.

Finally, at the bottom, set the Audio Format (Priority) to Linear PCM if your PS5 is connected directly to your receiver or soundbar over HDMI. If your PS5 connected to your TV, with your TV sending audio to the speakers over Optical or HDMI ARC, you may need to select Dolby or DTS here in order for surround to work, since other connections may not have the bandwidth for uncompressed LPCM in more than two channels.

If your headset offers its own virtual surround feature built-in, you can enable that at any time. This usually involves flipping a switch on the headset itself, or pressing a button on a USB adapter that's connected to the headset. The quality of the surround effects can vary from headset to headset, though, and may not be as good as the PS5's new built-in 3D audio.

EQ function is not really working. It tells I can change EQ presets, but I can't really feel EQ changes. Considering the fact that I am relatively audiophile it is hard for me to say I am the one wrong here, and it seems like the iCUE problem EQ functionality is not working.

I was able to get an explanation, 7.1 surround is only available via Dolby Atmos because it currently isn't integrated to iCUE at this time, You would have to use the app otherwise stereo is the only mode that is supported on iCUE.

I'm having a similar issue. Icue won't turn on 7.1 Surround and is stuck on stereo. The bigger issue however is that when I switch to Dolby sound, the headphones are locked to only use two channels instead of 8. Therfore I cant use either Icue 7.1 surround sound or Dolby 7.1 surround sound.

Should have gotten the SE's... they default to 8 channel every time you start up the computer! Or turn them on. Or just randomly while you're using it. You'll be begging for stereo... but you'll never get it!! If you're desperate for JK 8 channels... just send the XT's back and get the SE's. They're the same speakers anyway.

Gaming mice may all look roughly the same as most any PC mouse available, but there are a wide range of options to consider when choosing the right gaming mouse for you. Massively multiplayer RPG players may want a mouse with more buttons than the standard gaming mouse that features only two or three thumb buttons, as MMO games have many hot key considerations and more abilities that you can assign to additional buttons on your mouse.

Also, a lighter weight mouse is generally easier to move about, which also allows you to be more accurate in some cases. Many gaming mice also come with weight blocks that you can add or remove from the interior of the mouse to balance its weight to your preferences.

But if you have the space and are mostly an at-home gamer, there are benefits to having a wider gaming keyboard that allows for more buttons that can be assigned directly to in-game commands. Also consider that each gaming keyboard you look at will feature a specific switch type.

You can save quite a bit on a gaming headset if you choose a stereo model, but those savings come with limitations. Stereo gaming headsets may limit your ability to place the location of any sound in-game, while surround sound models provide a 7-point or larger spectrum of sound that help you more clearly pinpoint enemy movements and other in-game sounds. Being able to accurately place the location of sounds, especially in competitive gaming, is a near-essential need.

Whether you choose a gaming monitor with a TN panel or IPS panel is another consideration. TN panels are often considered to be a bit better for gaming as they feature faster response times and refresh rates, but IPS panels generally have better viewing angles and color accuracy.
