The New York department of Health and Mental Hygiene insists that to
aid their efforts in curbing the cancer every woman aged 40 or more
should get a mammogram as soon as possible. Any NYC gynecologist is
qualified to help with this procedure. Moreover, the Health and
Hospitals Corporation (HHC) offers a mammography at little or no cost
at all. There are also several websites being opened in New York City
offering free mammograms, all year round, to persons without adequate
health insurance, through the New York City Breast Cancer Program.
