Manyfamilies will choose one outfit for baby to wear, and then we will also do photos of baby swaddled/wrapped to keep them happy and snug. My favorite baby outfits are usually rompers or matching sets like the ones pictured here. I also love keeping the hands and feet exposed so I can get sweet detail shots of their tiny fingers and toes.
I love to also photograph sitters in just a diaper cover to really capture that precious chunk. I have a few diaper covers in the studio or any bloomers/short shorts will work! Any of these outfits would also work for one year old studio sessions which is another popular time for photographing babies.
When planning family outfits I generally recommend starting with Mom or even choosing a color palette to work with. I have lots of family outfit ideas over on my Pinterest page so definitely check that out!

For spring break, we went on a big trip to South Africa with our family. We explored Cape Town for a few days and then spent the rest of our time on a safari! Here are my Cape Town and safari outfits.
Our family brought 6 suitcases on this 10 day trip. We each brought one SOFT DUFFLE BAG, and then we brought one additional normal suitcase. We purchased the EXTRA LARGE size of the duffle bags since that was largest size allowable on the tiny safari plane. The boys were able to pack all of their items in their duffels without an issue, and with room to spare. PW and I eached packed all our safari items in our duffle bags, and then our cape town items and our toiletries together in the additional suitcase.
ARRIVAL DAY OUTFIT: When we arrived in Cape Town after a full, very long travel day, I was ready to get out of my travel clothes and feel like a human. We arrived in the afternoon, so we got to our hotel and I changed into this pretty little outfit. The weather was beautiful and this skirt and tee combination were perfect.
CAPE TOWN SIGHTSEEING OUTFIT: The rest of the day in Cape Town was spent on a Cape tour. We were on the tour for about 5 hours, driving all along the coast to the most southwest point of the Cape, the Cape of Good Hope, and the beach where we saw the African Penguins! Since we were in the tour van for a lot of this tour, I chose a breezy dress with some comfy sandals. If we had been walking a lot, I would have chosen sneakers instead.
SAFARI OUTFITS: On each safari day, we had two game drives and then dinner when we returned from the second game drive. On some days, I changed for the second game drive (especially if we got dirty or rained on), and also I would change for the hours in between the game drive to exercise or swim, so there were a lot of outfits per day!
SAFARI AFTERNOON: After the gym one day, in between our game drives, I put on my suit and swam for a little bit with the boys. This infinity pool overlooking the bush was so gorgeous!
LAST SAFARI and TRAVEL OUTFIT: this was the outfit I wore after our last safari drive when we flew back to Kruger Airport and then back to Cape Town. This comfy linen shirt is super affordable and these are the same old navy pants that I wore on safari one day.
CAPE TOWN SIGHT SEEING DAY: I wore this on our last day in Cape Town when we did a city tour and a few other fun activities for the boys, like mini golf and tobogganing. This skirt is so fun and lightweight and breezy! It was a little bit of a chilly day so I was glad for a jacket, even though I only wore this jacket one time.
One of the most frequent questions I received was if neutral clothing was required on the safari, and the answer is NO! They have no guidelines at all about what you can and cannot wear. I did read somewhere that certain colors attract some bugs, and of course wearing black in the sun can get warm, but you can wear anything you want on a safari.
I think the pictures turned out SO much nicer because we all were wearing neutral colors, and I made an effort to choose things that I knew they would feel comfortable wearing and would continue to wear.
Name of the post says it all. I am just returning to the game after being away for almost 5 years and previously i thought armor skins were on a two week rotating cycle. With the addition of outfits (obv not a recent addition), this seems to have changed. Can anyone shed some light on the typical time frame for a rollover?
There kinda isnt one. It is at their discretion, but it tends to be a Tuesday unless a special daily deal is on. We do tend to see new items every two weeks, but you can often wait months for a return item.
I suspect the gem store deliberately doesn't have a consistent or predictable schedule. That way it encourages players to log in regularly to check what's on offer and to look at the gem store regularly and maybe see things they didn't know about/didn't know they wanted but are now tempted to buy. Most updates happen on a Tuesday (and don't always coincide with new content releases) but there are exceptions, sometimes they'll release 1 or 2 new/returning items every day for a week, or a few items over the weekend.

Fortunately, it's been ages since the "Tuesday update" has been the pattern. In the thread linked by Danikat, you can see that there's something changing practically every 24 hours nowadays. They've added tech that allows the gem shop team to queue up changes, so that it no longer requires someone to press a button, thus ending the need to limit the number of times per week there's something new (or something leaving).
The last time it was available was during the 6th birthday of the game (end of august). It was using the Black lion Outfit ticket, which can be exchanged to this outfit. It might be something they will repeat this year.
I've had that for awhile now...looks fantastic on my human female...and totally oddball on my Asuran. I've been waiting since Sept of 2018 for them to re-release the unicorn finisher....takes so bloody long.
Could someone? I'm sure. Will they? No. I've never seen ANet give even a month's notice for any specific changes in availability (or discounts) with the rare exception that some of the anniversary and March madness sales have been announced in advance.
At the beginning of every journal entry, I used to write out what I wore that day and what the temperature was. I did this in order to track outfits; to catalog what I wore on certain days to make outfit planning easier in the long run. Though I thought it was going to make my getting-ready process easier, I never once went back to my journal entries to consult what I wore when attempting to pick out an outfit. So much for that, I guess.
When did you start gravitating toward primary colors?
Last year, I did a color analysis on an app. It said I should stick to reds, blues, browns, black, and white. It also told me to stay away from yellow, but I love yellow, so I ignored that.
Absolutely love the outfits in this post, but I am really struck by the photography. Creative, fun photos of creative, fun outfits. I love seeing her closet and glimpses of her home. Great job all around!
I have the same. My trick is to show that it is intentional and I do that that by making sure that the layer on the bottom (in this case the blouse) is more fitted to your body. And I also agree with the other comment that the accesories also help. If I wear a looser silhouette I also do my hair up and wear statement earrings for example.
My mom had a pair in the late 70s that disappeared at some point over the years. I asked her about them a while ago when Campus boots kind of had a popular resurgence, and she had no clue what happened to them. Devastated, lol.
Trying to guesstimate what the total cost of this sweater would be because I LOVE the look of it and love the idea of having a fun project to work on at night but conscious of what the $$ I would be looking at would be
Close to midnight on a Sunday night is not an ideal time to start any work project. But that's where I found myself two weeks ago as I pulled clothes out of my closet and dresser drawers and placed them into piles on my couch. These were all the possible outfit combinations I could think of, and it took me about 45 minutes until I felt good enough to go to sleep. This was the beginning of my experiment to try planning my outfits for a week.
In full transparency, the concept isn't anywhere near new. And it's been widely reported (see: Forbes, Inc., and our very own MyDomaine) that laying out your clothes for the week before can be a productivity boost. Take it a step further and some believe that having a specific daily uniform can even help you make better decisions during the week, as you've already eliminated the "what to wear" one every day (FYI: President Obama practiced this during his time in office).
The long story short is that it was kind of great, but it was not all great. What I missed in getting dressed on the fly I noticed immediately. On the other hand, by the end of the week, I felt quite smug about my speedy morning routine. To get a better sense of the pros and cons, I've laid them out below alongside this week's outfits.
