My phone crashed watching YouTube and would not wake up. Several soft resets did nothing and it was stuck in that charging loop. I did the soft-reset then held volume up to get into the recovery mode. Once there I did another soft reset, nothing happened, it sat charging for another minute or two and then spontaneously booted normally!
