Thefilm starts In the 14th century, with a group of Satanic worshipers, the Knights Templar, who have captured a women bearing a satanic mark giving birth to a baby that is used in a sacrificial offering to old ones, the towns folk stop the ritual midstream and capture and torture the knights templar. They blind each one of them and then burn them alive, as they are burning the knights promise to come back from the dead and take revenge on the land where they were killed.

The Curse Of The Blind Dead is a visually striking film with amazing cinematography and great use of colourisation techniques throughout. The FX are second to none and the sets are brilliant, the all round production is on top form here and to top it off a very entertaining story that hooks the viewer in.

In terms of cinematography, directing and overall production, this was quite impressive for being a Swedish creation (and I should know because I'm a Swede myself). Unfortunately I haven't read any of the books by Jan Guillou, but after seeing this I kind of wish I had now, since the story of the knight templar Arn turned out to be more intriguing than I had first anticipated.

A really good medieval drama concerning a romance and war. Arn was raised in a monastery and during his time there he left for a time to see the outside world, met a girl and their romance began - she became pregnant. She was with his child (in sin according to the laws) and was punished for 20 years in a convent. Arn was forced to become a warrior of God as a Knight Templar as his punishment. War began and Arn was one of the greatest Templar's - greatest warriors the world has ever seen. Will Arn and Cecilia ever see each other again? What became of their child? I won't give away the spoilers for those that have not seen the film - but it's a movie well worth watching if you like these types of films.
