Im using the Wireless-Protection with a Hotspot

For using the hotspot i created a wireless network with the "Bridge to seperate Zone" option and created the zone whereon i got an interface which is now listed under "Administration Interfaces"

Some time after that i changed the wireless network from "Bridge to seperate zone" to "Bridge to VLAN"

The Wireless network still works fine, but now the interface the XG created is still there (listed under "Administration Interfaces")

According to this i can't delete the created zone, because the Interface that isn't used any more is assigned to the zone

i checked that. There's no policy including this zone, the only thing the zone is "used by" is my interface i can't remove.

Convert back to bridge to seperate zone isn't possible, because you can't change the name of the existing network. (shown greyed)

Because of this i get an error saying "interface with the same name already exists"

They did this by using the advanced shell.

I checked the shell history and found the commands they used:

I only copy&pasted the commands they used for my problem, so use this at your own risk.

Would just like to add that any licensed Users who have a support contract must only use these commands if the Support team have directed you to use these. If you use these without Support direction then it could void your support contract.

OAK WiFi has live hotspots throughout the City; this initiative will greatly expand the coverage from West Oakland through Downtown and along the International Blvd corridor to the San Leandro border. The 13 wifi zones are located in East and West Oakland, Uptown and Downtown. These zones began to come online starting in mid-November 2020. Currently 12 of 13 zones are live and available to use - see map below. The remaining Zones will come online as they are completed. It is anticipated that all 13 zones will be online by the end of March 2021.

A bit of an update, I am now able to get my phone connected to the hotspot, it is correctly assigned an IP address without having to assign a static IP. Though connected devices still have no internet access.

I found another person with the same issue. I used nmcli connection modify Hotspot connection.zone trusted just as they did. That fixed the IP issue, though that did not fix the grayed out hotspot wording that they were having. I was only able to start the hotspot with nmcli con up id "Hotspot"

Your problem can easily have been the timing on when the interface for the hotspot is enabled and when the nftables are enabled. If the tables are created before the hotspot is enabled then the proper rules for ip forwarding (NAT) may not be created. The firewall should handle the ip forwarding but timing can be critical.
