This is what happens:
1. Open InDesign
2. Doesn't matter if im working or it's just open
3. After about 5 minutes, there's a system alert of Mojave saying, InDesign is using 550 GB of system memory and there's nothing left to work with.

It's a new iMac with a new system and it worked before with InDesign CC 2018 without having even seen this system alert. Since i need this software for my work, i installed 2018 to keep using it. But i can't figure out what's wrong with it.

Same symptoms as main post. 62GB of memory being eaten up and starts crashing the computer. It's a very simple document, nothing heavy at all. Can't believe it's been more than a year without a solution.

same problem win 10, I can not use indesign and illustrator because of the memory lack, but PS is working. very frustrating, I found some articles about adobe cep html engine, but all the mentioned solutions did not worked.
I tried to use the older verions of ID, but it could not help...

I have the same problem with the memory leak.
At our site we have a proxy server with Indesign 2019 the memory usage just keeps growing after a minute of use until it is unresponsive usually using well over 100GB.
Indesign 2018 does not have the issue.
If I connect to a network that does not have a proxy Indesign 2019 works ok.
So it seems, on our site, the proxy server is blocking something that Indesign 2019 is trying to access and instead of failing gracefully it chews up all the memory it can.
This problem has occurred on High Sierra and Mojave

Same problem, InDesign 2019 seems to have a 'memory leak'. Even when it's dormant it seems to progressively take up more and more memory, until my MacBook (Mid 2012, 8MB RAM, 500GB SSD, High Sierra) runs out of RAM. Can see this happening on my Activity Monitor app.

I'm having the same issue with both InDesign and Illustrator. It's completely unbearable to work that way when you have to save after every action and rebooting the software every 5 minutes. Sure it is a problem with Adobe. Going back to the 2018 version will not work for me since all the files created with the 2019 version won't open on earlier versions of software.

I'm also having this issue, I'm in a large work environment so possibly Adobe trying to communicate with its servers but our security blocking it so memory just goes up GB by GB until it crashes usually around 10mins at 150GB. I'd love to know if this is true and what is running in the background? Can it be disabled Adobe?

Upgraded to ID 14.0.1 on Mojave 10.14.3 and it's flogging out the system memory. I'm only doing a basic DL print flyer and it's so slow that I can hardly do anything. Just resizing bounding boxes or moving text around is an issue. For the future, this is teaching me to ignore your bloody updates.

On a daily basis this is proving to be unworkable it has just taken me 2 hours to complete a 2-page fact sheet EVERY single action the program stalls. Everywhere I look online everybody appears to have the exact same issue.

I'm having a similar issue, after upgrading to InD 2019. I keep seeing an alert that I've run out of application memory, and the app is paused by the OS, even though I have quit all other heavy apps and my InD project is a single, half-page.
