The Lost Tomb (Chinese: 盗墓笔记; pinyin: Dàomù Bǐjì) is a 2015 Chinese streaming television series based on the internet novel Daomu Biji. The series was originally intended to have 8 seasons filmed over a period of 8 years[3] but only three seasons were produced as of 2020. The first season premiered on iQiyi on 12 June 2015.[4]
In June 2014, a press conference was held at Shanghai and attended by representatives of H&R Century Pictures, Beijing Enlight Media and Nanpai Investment. It was announced that a film, television series and online game would be adapted from the novel Daomu Biji by Nanpai Sanshu.[6] In particular, the television series would be divided into 8 seasons filmed over a period of 8 years.[7]
The series is directed by Cheang Pou-soi who directed the 2014 film The Monkey King.[8] Other notable production crew included Hong Kong Film Award-winners Angie Lam and Bill Lui.[9] Chun Hung Mak, who worked on the Chinese Paladin series, composed the soundtrack of the series.
On June 24, 2014, Li Yifeng confirmed through Weibo that he would be taking on the leading role of Wu Xie.[12] On August 31, 2014, official posters of the main cast including Li, Yang Yang, Liu Tianzuo, Ken Chang and Wei Wei were released.[13] On November 5, 2014, Tiffany Tang was revealed to be the female lead of the series.[14]
In the novel, Wu Xie is the owner of an antique store but in the series, he is an overseas returnee who studied at a German University and returned to China to return an antique to the country. The rest of the team also became "protectors of the antique" instead of a "tomb-raiding team".[15]
Despite its popularity, the series was criticized for its draggy story-line and poorly done special effects. Fans of the novel also commented that the plot and characters deviated too much from the original novel.[17][18]
So Youtube went and recommended me a bunch of clips from Ultimate Note (which if I understand correctly is the 3rd season/series in the Lost Tomb drama?). And it looked pretty great. Lord knows I need another adventure/bromance cdrama like a hole in the head but there you go.
So I'm a bit confused as to the order of these, and Wikipedia doesn't do much in the way of clearing things up. There's 3 seasons/series: The Lost Tomb, The Lost Tomb 2, and Ultimate Note. And then 3 or 4 side stories/prequels if I am reading right? But they have different actors and actresses in them but they play the same characters? So I'm just confused as to whether they are connected or whether I need to watch them in a certain order in order to follow the plot and characters.
The series tells the story of Wu Xie, a descendant of a prestigious tomb raiding family, who comes in contact with some mysterious artifacts and goes on an adventure with his uncle, Wu Sanxing. On his adventure he meets Zhang Qiling and Wang Pangzi, who accompany him on his dangerous journey.
I bought this last week on a whim. It is currently reduced on Amazon, and looked nice enough. While l love Star Wars line, I'm starting to get into the other series, there's great playability... But there's only so much space in my room
Overall: 9/10 This is a really nice set and a definite recommendation. Since it's not on Lego.com now, this set is probably available until it sells out. I'm glad I got it. It works as an Indy vignette, and as an Egyptian set. I'm thinking now about buying a second one just to make some Egyptian tomb out of it. Consider me satisfied.
I also wanted to share photos of the minifigs which are pretty nice. Indiana Jones appears to be the same as in other sets in the 2023 series, but we also get a pilot and a minfig based on his father. I like the figure of this father, but the clutch power on the hat element is really bad and it falls off easily. The pilot figure is not fancy but looks good enough.
#77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb focuses on a single scene near the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark where Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood are locked in the tomb and need to find a way to navigate a room filled with snakes to escape the Well of Souls.
Co-authoring a review with a four-year-old can be challenging. I tried to notice his moments of focus and frustration while building the models, and his fleeting moments of joy or ambivalence while playing with the finished models. His interest in building the car and especially the plane was greater than building the tomb, but his interest in the completed models was completely opposite.

Douglas Preston's journalistic explorations have taken him from the haunted country of Italy to the jungles of Honduras. He was granted exclusive journalistic access to the largest tomb in Egypt's Valley of the Kings, broke the story of an extraordinary mass grave of animals killed by the asteroid impact that ended the Cretaceous period and caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, and explored what lay hidden in the booby-trapped Money Pit on Oak Island. When he hasn't been co-authoring bestselling thrillers featuring FBI Agent Pendergast, Preston has been writing about some of the world's strangest and most dramatic mysteries.
The Lost Tomb brings together an astonishing and compelling collection of true stories about buried treasure, enigmatic murders, lost tombs, bizarre crimes, and other fascinating tales of the past and present.

Cleopatra VII was a member of the Ptolemaic dynasty and the last pharaoh of Egypt. For centuries, archeologists have been searching for her tomb. But there have been very few clues about the remains of this powerful ruler. But could this be about to change?
Orkney, off the north coast of Scotland, is renowned for its remarkably well-preserved monuments. Many of these are Neolithic (10,000 BC to 2,200 BC) and consist of stone circles and chambered tombs, which are still highly visible in the landscape. Chambered tombs are monuments built of stone with a chamber area designed to hold the remains of the dead.
In many parts of Britain, chambered tombs have been robbed for stone, and while this was also the case on Orkney, most sites do not seem to have been as badly affected as in other parts of the country.
In 2023, we decided to open up a trench to see if anything survived. When we arrived at the site, it did not look promising. All that remained on the ground was a very slight grassy dome which had clearly been ploughed over the years. In a field of many grassy knolls, it was hard to see how this was anything exceptional. Yet, the location was quite prominent, with views out over the landscape in many directions, comparable to other passage tombs in the area. A passage tomb is a type of chambered tomb with a long thin passage leading to a central chamber with smaller cells off the main chamber.
As we peeled off the turf, we quickly came down onto heavily disturbed soil containing smashed Victorian ceramics and stone rubble. This came from a nearby farmhouse that had robbed stone from the tomb in order to build their barn. There was no rubbish collection then, so their waste went out on to the fields. But scattered among this recent material were small fragments of bone which looked much older.
In revealing and excavating these remains, we have found a lost passage tomb, but also revealed that these finds will not be preserved forever. The soil added into the monument during the Victorian destruction of the site has been eroding the bones ever since, so it is now a race against time to retrieve what survives.
The Lost Tomb of Robert the Bruce, a collaborative project between HES's predecessor bodies and the Centre for Digital Documentation and Visualisation (CDDV) to recreate the tomb from fragments, started in 2013. The reconstruction was then exhibited at a number of venues across the country, and will now be permanently housed at Dunfermline Abbey Church (not in the care of HES).
