Dear Bylaws and Rules Committee,
Article IV section 4.2 of our current bylaws states:
"The KCDCC Secretary shall maintain a list of all PCOs, which shall be posted on the KCDCC website."

The January 9, 2021 meeting of the KCDCC PCO Recruitment and Training Committee was held shortly after the insurrection in our nation's capital.
At this meeting concerns about publicly posting the names of all King County Democratic Party PCOs were raised.
Specifically, it was noted that reactionary violence is generally increasing throughout our nation and also in King County.
Although the names and some other information about elected PCOs is publicly available it can be difficult to find if the researcher does not know "where to look".
Posting our PCO names and precincts on our public KCDCC website may pose risks to those persons which were not envisioned at the time the bylaw was originally written.
In light of these trends the suggestion was made to remove the PCO list (which also included the names of appointed and acting PCOs) from the KCDCC website.
In considering this I have erred on the side of safety and requested that our Secretary not publicly post our PCO list pending review of this Bylaw.
However, failing to maintain the list on our website is a violation of our Bylaws.

I request that the sentence which currently reads "The KCDCC Secretary shall maintain a list of all PCOs, which shall be posted on the KCDCC website." be revised to address the reasonable security concerns raised by community members.

An example of one potential solution would be:
"The KCDCC Secretary shall maintain a list of all PCOs, which shall be shared with all LD Chairs, Vice Chairs, and PCO Chairs/Coordinators. A list of precincts and their staffing (as "staffed", "acting", or "vacant") shall be posted on the KCDCC website."

I have a previously-scheduled meeting that coincides with your meeting today, and therefore cannot present this concern in person.

Thank you for your consideration,

Anne
