I dont know of anything else other than the waze thing.

http://www.burningman.com/preparation/travel_info/waze.html

We didnt do that much this year due to friction with the org, but such is life.

The API is live. I'm about to push in the art gps locations, but
*please* note in your article that we are NOT permitted to add the
camp locations until the gates open. People can hit the 2009 data to
see what it looks like with the location data if they want to build
something against it.

You might also mention that we were *finally* able to release the
http://code.burningman.com/ burning man open source site. So, our
projects are there as Open Source and if the org gets their act
together, there are more that are hidden for the moment. The iBurn
apps code is there as well as our django code. We *really* want people
to contribute, and now its not so convoluted that they cant.

We are waiting anxiously for news of the approval from Apple. As soon as it has gone live you will be the second to know.

I put this together and am ready to send this out as soon as the news comes through...

Hi This is Andrew Johnstone, Project Lead for Burning Man Earth
Apple has just approved our iBurn2010 directory for iPhone. Also Burning Man Earth Has arranged a satellite shot as detailed below.
We are anxious to get the word out and would love it if you can put it to your lists.  THANKS!

"iBurn2010", is a free Burner app for iPhone, iPad, iTouch is a total digital directory . After you download it, iBurn2010 automatically caches Burning Man schedules, information and maps and is designed to work offline. To respect Burning Man protocols, theme camp data will not load until the official opening of the event on Monday. Features include buttons to geo-locate yourself and get your sorry ass back to camp, get directions and descriptions for individual events and saving your favorites.

YOU NEED TO INSTALL THIS FROM THE APPLE APP STORE BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR BURNING MAN. LOOK FOR " IBURN2010 " IN THE APP STORE.

ALSO...
Burning Man Earth has arranged for the GeoEye satellite to image Black Rock City at exactly 11:41am Thursday Sept 2nd. We encourage burners to do something cool to be visible from space. Realistically you should be thinking of something at least 30m (100 feet) on each side and of high contrast (black or blue) ... but as I am constantly reminded "BIGGER IS BETTER". We hope to have the image processed within 24 hours and may project it for all to see in center camp on Friday night.

We want to get the word out about these two cool things and encourage you to forward/tweet/text this news to any list or friends heading for the desert.

Drive safely
Burning Man Earth.
