RELEASENOTES: In the recent June 2021 release of LOINC 2.70 and RELMA 7.3, we began to publish combined release notes across all LOINC artifacts on a single page on the LOINC Knowledge Base (KB) as well as a PDF in each LOINC artifact download. Individual Readme notes continue to be published with each accessory file.

Although this was an abbreviated release cycle, a significant amount of work was still accomplished including creating 400 new and editing 562 terms. Also note that two previously deprecated terms were changed to active status.

During this release cycle, we continued to prioritize creating LOINC terms and other resources related to SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 testing, clinical care, documentation, and reporting. Filtered subsets of these terms can be found on our dedicated web page. This page will be updated daily with any new pre-release terms or edits.

For continued highlights of new and updated content included in this release, please refer to the LOINC Release Notes page. The LOINC KB also has an archive of past LOINC Release Notes, though be aware this older information is not available through a KB search.

RELEASE STRUCTURE: Beginning in February 2022, we are streamlining the LOINC release structure to make it easier for users to access all of the necessary files. The LOINC table and accessory files will be released together as a single archive, and RELMA will be provided as a separate download file. Individual accessory files will no longer be available as separate downloads, and therefore will no longer have independent version numbers.

New and updated LOINC content available in version 2.71 has been added to our terminology service using HL7 FHIR. Stay tuned for a separate announcement of forthcoming improvements to this service. You can expect this news in approximately one week.

We are always grateful for the network of volunteers who provide translations of LOINC terms and especially to those who were able to share updates within this shortened cycle. The following translations have been updated with this release. All linguistic variants are available within SearchLOINC and RELMA, as well as a download of the Linguistic Variants Version 3.3 file.

The first step to converting 2.71 to a fraction is to re-write 2.71 in the form p/q where p and q are both positive integers. To start with, 2.71 can be written as simply 2.71/1 to technically be written as a fraction.

Next, we will count the number of fractional digits after the decimal point in 2.71, which in this case is 2. For however many digits after the decimal point there are, we will multiply the numerator and denominator of 2.71/1 each by 10 to the power of that many digits. For instance, for 0.45, there are 2 fractional digits so we would multiply by 100; or for 0.324, since there are 3 fractional digits, we would multiply by 1000. So, in this case, we will multiply the numerator and denominator of 2.71/1 each by 100:

I was certain the 800 G1 SFF would get a BIOS update for Microcode Updates for MDS processor bugs yet the officially listed version for this model is a version 2.71 from 2017 whereas if you search for security bulletins on this model you can locate a 2.77 for this model from this year? ( -en/document/c06330149)

Your are correct, and HP has not done a great job on this. I think it is just too detailed and numerous to get them all right by the team trying to keep all the drivers straight. I posted here some multiple weeks back on the opposite..... the listings in the advisory were not updated but you could find the right BIOS updater by going to the workstaton's drivers site. Now this.

So, you will not find that updated 2.77 BIOS through the HP drivers page for your workstation, but you are so close.... Why did you not click on the link in the advisory you posted? The link there is correct and works. I've posted here many times on the safest way to update BIOS.... to do it from within BIOS. Attached is a pic of the navigation to the .bin file you need to have on a thumb drive to update from within BIOS. As you can see it is 2.77. Here you go....... straight from SoftPaq from the advisory you linked to:

I though maybe HP has found issues with 2.77 for that model and has therefore retracted it from the regular download page in. But you confirm that my impression that there are likely some issues on HPs side on getting BIOS updates listed in security bulletins other channels such as downloads section or SSM.

I've done several updates on HP machines so installing a BIOS update is the smallest step. Actually obtaining the actual latest one seems needlessly messed up for some machines at that point. For comparison: I can get the latest 8300 SFF update without a fuss (Alas: HP isn't alone in making updates available easily, it's an industry standard to some degree)
