Just a heads up.. There are apparently two concerts worth attending; I don't have details on the first:
Oct 7, 7:30p First Presbyterian Church on Carter Creek in Bryan; Flute soloist
Oct 10, 7:30p same venue; choral concert:

Nathaniel Dett Chorale:

I can do without the extra traffic on Texas Ave and throughout, but it's good that school's back in session, b/c the nice events come in full bloom again :)

I just wanted to remind everybody that Saturday is the 20th World Wide Sketch Crawl. http://www.sketchcrawl.com
In Bryan, we will meet at the Frame Gallery, 216 N. Bryan, at 8:30 a.m.  If anyone wants to start earlier, that's fine.  But come by the Frame Gallery to register and let us know that you are participating.
We can then meet at the LaSalle Hotel in case anyone needs coffee, and, there, we can decide if people want to work as a group, or work individually.  We can also select where we want to work.
The day will be spent sketching.  At the end of the day, participants can meet back at the Frame Gallery to share work and experiences.
Later, work and experiences can be added to the Sketch Crawl website, individual blogs or websites, or sites like Flickr.
In Calvert, people can meet at Mud Creek Pottery, 417 Main St., and follow about the same schedule of sketching and sharing.
People in other communities can work where they are, and can start their own groups. Or, they may join in the Sketch Crawl in Bryan or Calvert.
This event is FREE and open to everyone who likes to draw, sketch, paint, doodle, or journal.  It is for all ages, all skill levels, all media, groups, families, or individuals.  They can work all day or for a short while.
At this point, people from 34 countries around the world and 42 cities in the United States are listed on the website for this Sketch Crawl.  I have registered a section for Bryan/College Station/Brazos Valley on the Forum section of the website.
Let's all go out and draw the Brazos Valley Saturday.
Contact Greta Watkins at the Frame Gallery, Bryan,   (979)822-0496 ;    or Sonny Moss  at Mud Creek Pottery, Calvert, 1-800-670-8183 or (979)364-3730.
Thanks for your help in getting out the word about this art event.
