There's a 3D printing project I'm working on for my daughter's birthday party this weekend*.

Due to some printing problems and some bad models, I'm running through my filament faster than expected. I'm going to run out, and I don't think I can order a spool and get it here in time to finish.

Does anyone have a 0.5 kg or more of natural PLA (1.75mm) that I could trade for, buy, order replacement, beg/borrow/steal? I could trade you a fresh-in-bag 1kg spool of black Inland PLA.

If there are any takers, drop me a line--I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Tim Scott

*Her party is snow-themed (but not Frozen). I'm customizing snowflakes with each party-goer's  name. A few weeks ago I received a Micro M3D printer from their Kickstarter.  It's small, but been a lot of fun.

Shapeways has rush shipping: https://www.shapeways.com/blog/archives/tag/rush-production/

Also, if paper or vinyl would work in place of plastic, we've got a Silhouette.

Hey Tim,

Over here at the MakerSpace @ BinarySpace we have PLA in our shop.  The closest 2 colors we have that might help is white and glow in the dark.  Hope this helps, I will keep an eye out for some clear!

Thanks

Hi Tim,

I actually have a sealed 1kg reel of Natural 1.75 PLA from Protoparadigm.  I paid 40 dollars for it and so I would appreciate that in kind (you get free shipping).  I'll have it at my office so you can come pick it up whenever you want, if you want to buy it.  Also, if you need some help with the print or printing in general, this group is a great place to ask for help (I'd suggest posting a picture of what went wrong).

Tim-
What a terrific project idea!  Party favors! :D  Do share how it ends up.

Btw (I'm lousy at keeping up here), there's a proper makerspace at Binary now?  A friend (https://www.facebook.com/bap.bcs) has just moved in (as I understand it) who is a party planner: maybe there's some room for collaboration there?

Happy Friday

Nice touch-- but seriously? Not an"Frozen" party and one of the guests or the birthday girl herself is named is Anna? :)

Hah, I know. She has two guests named "Anna", and her name isn't far from Elsa. Not sure why she didn't want it to be  "Frozen" party, but oh well.
