Your synced files are stored in a new folder called Box Sync. You can access this folder from the Favorites section in the left pane of Windows Explorer. Alternately, right-click the Box Sync icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of your screen - near the clock) and click Open Sync Folder.

In my current project, I'm producing weekly releases. I've been using the technique described in this post to keep the version numbers of all of the assemblies in my project in sync. (I don't presently have any good reason to track the assemblies' version numbers separately, though I'm sure that day will eventually come.)

When I push out a release, I build a new version of the installer. Unlike all of the assemblies, which can get their version numbers from a shared SolutionInfo.cs file, the version number of the installer isn't, as best I can tell, an assembly property. So my release process includes manually advancing the version number in the setup project.

We use TFS Team Build and WiX v3. I have a custom build task that increments the build number in Team build (5.0.0.X for example), then this version number is pushed to the common AssemblyInfo.cs AssemblyFileVersion field. It is also passed by MSBuild to our solutions/projects as a property which is then passed into WiX and used to update the installer version as well.

Filtering is used when you want to limit which objects are synchronized to Microsoft Entra ID. By default all users, contacts, groups, and Windows 10 computers are synchronized. You can change the filtering based on domains, OUs, or attributes.

Password hash synchronization synchronizes the password hash in Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID. The end-user can use the same password on-premises and in the cloud but only manage it in one location. Since it uses your on-premises Active Directory as the authority, you can also use your own password policy.

If you have not worked with a synchronization topology before you want to start to understand the basics and the terms used as described in the technical concepts. Even if some things are similar, a lot has changed as well.

The configuration model in sync is called declarative provisioning. The advanced attribute flows are using functions to express attribute transformations. You can see and examine the entire configuration using tools which comes with Microsoft Entra Connect. If you need to make configuration changes, make sure you follow the best practices so it is easier to adopt new releases.

Microsoft Entra Connect (sync): This option shows your Microsoft Entra Connect servers that Microsoft Entra Connect Health is currently monitoring. Sync errors entry will show basic sync errors of your first onboarded sync service by categories. When you select the Sync services entry, the blade that opens shows information about your Microsoft Entra Connect servers. Read more about the capabilities at Using Microsoft Entra Connect Health for sync.

Through our Smart Sync feature you have greater control and can sync only the folders or files you need by right clicking, choosing Smart Sync and then selecting 'Local'. From there, once we have returned these 'online-only' files/folders through selective sync you can now see the files and folders and then proceed with re-downloading only the content you need and want.

I just tried syncing my top-level AndroidStudio folder and Dropbox showed the folder and synchronised its contents correctly, and then when I unsynced it, Dropbox removed it and hid the folder correctly.

If I synchronise only a subfolder within one of my non-selected top folders, then Dropbox gives me an Ignored Item Conflict, but it does still synchronise my selection correctly alongside it. Here's a screengrab:

Are you saying that even after I sync the folder, I also have to go into "context menu > Smart Sync > Local" to actually synchronise the files? Why doesn't Selective Sync do this? As you can see in my settings, the default setting is 'Local'.

All of our installers are signed. Digital signing allows Windows itself to verify that the file is from 2BrightSparks and has not been tampered with. Any modification to a signed file will invalidate the digital signature. If the digital signature is valid then you can be certain it has not been infected with malware or viruses, for example.

SyncBackFree can also be installed using winget. Simply enter winget install syncbackfree on the command line to install it, or winget upgrade syncbackfree to upgrade it to the latest version. The Administrator installer is used.

Reformatted drive again - used a Linux host (instead of my FreeNAS, and when that failed I tried another MacOS M1 MBP and same deal) to copy a sync link... and it's now working - but CAN'T you fix this so it can tell use which file it couldn't copy? I know there's a list somewhere, but sometimes it's like 1000 files below the most recent entry... It's not re-assuring... Makes me not want to trust your product...

That did not work for me. I have tried it 4 times now. Deleted the .sync folder from both my Android and Windows folder and restarted the folder sync pairing from scratch. It still fails with "can't download file".

I am trying to run a borg backup script to make a local repository and then use rclone to sync with OneDrive. Once an 'initial' backup has been made manually, this script first fetches the entire repo from OneDrive, adds in a new archive for the day, prunes, uploads it back to OneDrive with the additional archive and then deletes local files. When fetching the repo (of 1 GB), RCLONE does it almost instantaneously (20s) like it is local file, I've repeatedly run the script several times and ensured that the destination of the sync is empty but the issue is, possibly after a long duration AND restart later, rsync is unable to fetch the repo instantaneously as it previously did possibly because the cache is getting deleted and takes horribly long as if it is downloading all the files from OneDrive. How do I prevent this from happening? I am not totally sure about what is resetting this as the shift is seemingly random. I have tested after 8hrs of inactivity (in sleep mode) and was able to fetch the repo in seconds. Reboot and run the script again, was able to fetch the repo in seconds. But a combination of these two might be affecting the speed. I have also referred to
