NoteYour Chromebook supports third-party file systems that use DocumentsProvider APIs. If you download one of these Android files apps from the Play Store, it will appear on the left-hand side of your Files .

By default, your files are saved to your Downloads folder, a temporary folder on your Chromebook's hard drive. You can change where downloads are saved by default or select a specific folder for each download.

Is this a clean install, or did you try to import any previous settings based on the Android ROM from an old device? Best to try a clean setup first. Do you see the filenames only in your music library after a Full Rescan, but with no album art or Title/Artist/Album text?

On scan ot clearly identifies the music is on the 32 sub folders and gets the correct file count.

It appears the name is read correctly (99 percent are mp3) BUT the meta data is missing, such as art, genre artist etc as these are blank.

That does still sound like the Samsung Android 13 ROM bug, which I referred you to in my link. Could you confirm you have specifically checked the following and then assigned folder access permission and rescanned again?

Sometimes the system's External Storage component (which I believe can also have an impact on internal device storage) can lose its normal access to files on Samsung Android 13 updates. Check the following:

My WD TV Live media player has stopped playing MKV files for some reason. I know that it has managed to play them in the past, but for some reason it is not now. Does anyone know how I can resolve this?

You were lucky. Happens much less on my Live Plus as firmware evolved, and I stayed with one of the latest versions for years now. A video file would play fine, select another of same type of file. and it would say it could not play this kind of video format. (It just played one like it, WTF.) would have to reboot player, and when it came back up, I select same video and it played fine. (my WDTV is wired to network, too.)

I've searched for the problem with an MP4 file not playing, and I found a forum with what I hoped would have a solution. The Mod had responded multiple times within a thread to different replies, I've tried all the solutions that were offered, by using incognito, different browser, clearing cache, not using third party, but it seems that the biggest solution people had were when the mod had sent out a ticket for this problem to be taken care of. Thus I would love to request if one of the Mod's may send me out a ticket for this issue to be resolved.

I'm having the same issue on my android devices as well as my ipad. hope someone knows the solution to this problem.

I'm having the same issue. These are mp4 files shared with me. I can see the shared folder and individual files but when I click play, I get the circle going around like it's loading and then it times out. These are not my files and I do not want to download them if they can be previewed in dropbox.

OK, just tried to add a folder. The folder information appears, but the list of files does not. I tried with different folders (and different file types), none shows up. I am on LineageOS 17.1 (Android 9) and obtained AP from F-Droid.

Hmm, AntennaPod only displays audio/video files from the folders. Could you try with a folder that contains an mp3 file? Also, if the folder has many files, it might take a few seconds to be displayed (refreshing local folders currently does not show a proper notification icon like normal podcasts do).

AntennaPod 2.3.0 will display the *.opus files. Currently, it only displays them on some devices that recognize the file extension. m4b chapters are currently not supported. I will not add a parser for that but if someone else wants to, feel free to comment

I have lots of songs on my hard-disk in various formats (AIFF, FLAC, WAV, MP3). How do I play these files in Roon? To be clear: I wish to play the actual file that is on my hard disk. That is: I wish to be able to click on a file in Windows Explorer and have it play in Roon. I do not wish to play that song from Tidal, etc, Detailed instructions will be appreciated.

You need to point Roon to your local library storage location in settings.

It will import and analyze all your music.

Then you just select your music from within Roon.

It will play your local file option if that is what you chose

You will not be able to click on a file in Explorer and have it play in Roon. It does not work that way. You have to add the path that the files are stored on in Roon and then Roon will see your library and from there you can select the album you wish to play from your library and it will play.

To add the music into Roon you have to go into Settings and then into Storage. It is there you will add the path to your music. You say you have 100K tracks. Be aware that if you add them all at the same time Roon will spend a lot of time adding them so go slow.

You can bookmark pretty much any screen in Roon by clicking the Bookmark icon located in the upper-right corner, next to your profile and search icon. Once you've saved a bookmark, it will be available from the same drop down, allowing you...

I'm having the same issue! Duplicating and playing immediately solves the issue (temporarily), but then if you close the preview and open it again, back to a blank title screen. Did you ever get any further help from this issue via Support?

As a test, are you able to play these WAV tracks with any other apps on the iPhone? Per If a media file doesn't open or play on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad - Apple Support, " if you still don't have an app that supports the media format used by the file, search the internet or App Store for an app that does". So this may require testing with the use of a third-party app that is known compatible with WAV format files.

That's disappointing. Someone else on a thread on here recommended Doppler, which I've just taken my first look at but seems like a promising solution in the interim. Solid, streamlined player that makes it easy to work with tracks from whatever source, either between your Mac or directly on the phone.

I made one form a Raspberry Pi and an using old Hard Drive I had lying about. All in it cost 50. All in solutions on Amazon retail around the 100 mark. Most of these also have USB slots to transfer media too. Once set up you can add it to Sonos and then it is an independent solution, your PC can be turned off and the NAS can be hidden away out of sight.

Agree. However if you have an unstable Internet connection, or have to pay for data volumes, a NAS can make sense. A NAS will also be a good place to store a local back up of all your precious files, such as Photos.

Another solution would be uploading your files to ibroadcast. It is free music storage, and you can access your music from anywhere you have an internet connection. iBroadcast is also a music service that you can activate in the Sonos App. Works for me pretty well.

YouTube Music and iBroadcast both offer free uploading and playback of your own files through Sonos, albeit at a lower bit rate than streaming services normally offer. You can pay a monthly fee for higher quality. Apple Music also offers uploading and playback, but only with a paid account.

That's a known VLC issue. It never did. When you mount your network share, its files are also shown in the /run/user/your_user_id/gvfs folder. Locate the file you want to play in that folder and play it from there.

About a year or two ago, I decided to use Google Play Music as my "cloud host", so I took all of my old music that I'd had sitting on my computer, and uploaded it to Google Play Music. This is all my own purchased music, mostly originally from CDs (I'm older).
