Itmust be acknowledged that screenshots can be used to instigate bullying, as they allow the taker of the screenshot to copy incriminating photos and messages. However, in order for a young person to be prepared to handle cyberbullying situations, it is crucial that he/she knows how to record evidence of cyberbullying through taking screenshots.

But first, what exactly is a screenshot? A screenshot or screen capture is a picture taken by a computer, mobile or tablet user, using the device in question, to record the visible items displayed on the screen. The image is stored as a graphics file. Screenshots can be taken using various programs or by using particular keyboard/button shortcuts.

How to take a screenshot on a smartphone or tablet varies depending on the operating system and device used. The easiest way to find out how to screenshot on your individual device is to search online. The following videos, available on Youtube, show how to take screenshots with some of the most popular phones and tablets. Generally speaking, to take a screenshot on a phone or tablet, you press the power key and the home button at the same time. Your screenshot will add itself to your gallery.

Please be aware that many phones nowadays can screen record, meaning that they can record videos of the screen. A third party app is needed for Android phones or older IoS phones. The Apple iOS 11 or later, has built-in screen record capabilities. These can be turned on by going to Settings/ Control Centre/ Customise Controls/ Screen Recording. You can access the screen recording feature in your control panel by swiping up on the home screen. Recordings are saved onto the camera roll. Need to take a screenshot on your Windows PC? Whether you want to capture the full screen or just one window or area, there are several quick and easy ways to take screenshots in Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows 8. This wikiHow article will teach you how to use keyboard shortcuts (including the Print Screen key), the Snipping Tool, and the Xbox Game Bar to screen capture any area of your Windows desktop.

I don't need a screenshot of my problem. I have been trying to buy credits to play computer games but the Microsoft form will not give me the option to select my State, which is Victoria. I have reported this problem many times over the past few days but the problem remains.

To capture a screenshot on Windows 10, I simply hold down the Windows key, press Shift, and then click the 'S' key. Afterward, I'm able to select the specific area on the screen that I want to capture. This is always the easiest way for me and then I grab a subway specials today.

@Iceni_777 you could maybe try shift+windows key+S in that respective order. Do not press them at the same time and keep the previous key down when pressing the next one. After that you can select the part of the screen you want to screenshot and then in order to save it you need to click on the notification that will pop up. The notification will open a new tab and then you have to manually save it. I hope this helped!

Recommend a totally free and safe ( developed by a commercial brand) snipping tool. It can capture for various needs - take notes, add elements, etc. Hot keys can be customized according to your habits. Most importantly, it's safe and free of all kinds of ads, which is quite annoying when I use other free software.

To take a screenshot on Windows 10, press the "Windows Key + PrtScn" to capture the entire screen and save it to the "Screenshots" folder. Press "Alt + PrtScn" to capture the active window, and paste it using "Ctrl + V." Use the "Snipping Tool" for more options. For Windows 10 keys, use Hype-stKey, a partner of Microsoft.

Basically exactly what the title says - my computer will take one screenshot, then fail to be able to take any screenshots (the darkened screen with the ss options will not even show up) until the next time I restart my computer. I usually use the win+shift+s shortcut to take screenshots on windows, but I still have the same problem even when I open up and try to manually take a screenshot from snip and sketch. I have already tried to reset Snip and sketch, which did nothing, and even when I changed my settings so that the print screen button could also take ss, the same issue occured. Does anyone know the possible problem and how to fix it?

Windows 10/11 is running, so click on the Download button (not Upgrade Button) and select Run. This will launch the Repair. Proceed normally answering the prompts. The default Keep prompt is to Keep Everything.

I have a new HP computer. Windows 11. I use to do Ctrl Prt SC and the screenshot went directly to my Dropbox screenshot folder. That does nothing on my new computer. The prt sc wording is on the upper portion of the right shift key. Nothing happens even with ctrl shift prt sc. I can right click on an image and select take screenshot, but that only adds it to the download arrow on the upper bar. What am I doing wrong or is there something I need to set up. I read all kinds of searches and they do not seem to help.

I think you need to figure out how the Print Screen keys works on your computer first, since it's in a non-standard location. You may need to hold you Fn key, if you have one, or something similar. Try taking a screenshot and just pasting it into Paint Brush or Word, etc., to see if it's at least working. Once you know it's working, you can enable the Dropbox option in Preferences.

Also note that you usually only need to hit Print Screen (no CTRL) to take a screenshot of the entire window, or ALT+Print Screen to take a screenshot of the active window. The CTRL key usually isn't needed.

I have a HP Envy x360 Laptop. On a visit to the Geek Squad to fix an item on my computer, the Tech showed me that fn ctrl prtsc took a screen shot of the active window and placed it in my Drop Box Screen Shot folder. Previously I saw that right clicking on the page and selecting screenshot, I could choose save full page, save visible or drag and frame a region to save, but this involved additional steps that were very cumbersome to me. Thanks for taking the time to give me your thoughts on this process. I am surprised at the answer the tech gave me, but it works. I did not see anything to lead to that conclusion on all of my searches.

Windows key + FN + PRT SC will take a screen shot of the entire screen (or screens as I have two monitors hooked up to my laptop. What key combination do I use to take just a screen shot of the current window? I have tried Alt + Prt Sc which is what worked on several of my previous computers. I have also tried FN+Alt+Prt Sc and Windows key + FN+Alt+Prt Sc.

I've figured it out. Having ALT + PRT SC save a file to a screenshot folder turned out to be a function of Dropbox. I pulled out my old laptop and took an ALT PRT SC and noticed that the popup said I saved a file to my DROPBOX folder which is different from the screenshot folder under This PC/Pictures/Screenshots.

I had this enabled on my previous computer. I enabled it on my HP Omen and now it works like I want it to. Windows would save the generic PRT SC file to This PC/Pictures/Screenshots but not the ALT PRT SC. This Dropbox feature will save all screenshots to your Dropbox/Screenshots folder.

If this does not work you could try WinKey + Shift + S which will grey out your screens and you can choose what part of the screen to save to clipboard which you can then paste in paint or other application.

It should be Alt+FN+PRT SC, it does put the pic into the clipboard, but doesn't put a file into the screen shots folder. Has this feature been disabled on the HP Omens? Is there some other program that I should be looking for that could be interfering?

Capturing a snapshot of your computer screen is called a screenshot or screen capture. Once captured, the screenshot is automatically copied to your clipboard in Windows. Windows uses the Print Screen key, either alone or with another key, to capture one of the following:
