Hi all,

Another getting started question...

Now I've got brassmonkey working locally and have started to play around with a few things, I thought I'd have a go at putting it on a server and connecting that way.

I've uploaded all the files onto the server and when I navigate to the "Basics" example:

The slot color changes and it seems to be running ok...

When I start the app on my phone, the basics example is there, but when I click on it, it just says "connecting" and never connects.

The hosting is only cheap cpanel stuff but as the server appears to run I didn't think that would be a problem.

To confirm - I can still connect to brassmonkey.com and also to my local instance and use the examples.

I've checked the server logs and there's nothing relating to brassmonkey in there.

Is there anything obvious I'm missing from the server setup that would stop devices connecting?

The relevant ports etc are open on my network - does something need to be opened up on the server too?

Thanks,

Paul

Hey Paul,

I just checked out the link and it worked for me here. I'm using Chrome and the latest Brass Monkey app. It took a little while to connect but not that long. Are you still having this issue?

Francois

Hi Francois,

I've just tried again and it all seems to be working ok today....

Weird...the only thing I can think of that's different is that yesterday I was streaming music from Grooveshark...not sure if that would affect anything or not...

Ether way, thanks again for your quick response!

Cheers,

Paul
