Intel Linux open source driver for intel hd 3000 2nd gen processors (e.g. i7-2640m) is openGL 3.3 hardware supported. I have installed ubuntu just to give intel the proof that they are not supporting windows driver enough and their respective customers. Here is the proof (ubuntu/linux graphics driver with opengl 3.3 see picture attached). Intel why not windows???? Please support windows too. We need this API driver support in windows 7, 8 ,8.1 too (since no windows 10 intel driver I will not mention it).

This was your reply 2 months ago. You said the CPU with intel hd 3000 is still supported. You make me laugh. Are you fine??? I think you should seek assistance for lying. Are you the same person MichaelC mikeC?? Who has the highest rank??

I am becoming agitated with intel. You have produced a product which you failed to develop and failed to support your clients, with less than 4 years support. This is an aweful experience and behaviour from intel. You have become the enemy of your clients.

Is intel lazy? Then you come and tell me that intel hd 3000 is no longer supported. Are you serious??????????? or are you becoming the "laughing stock"????????? with this new line of ridiculous replies.

It is your obligation and I only accept a positive reply. A negative is rejected. I will be waiting that intel supports its products and produces an openGL 3.3 driver for 2nd gen CPUs with intel hd 3000.

The post from mikec_intel is not from me. I do not post in the Intel Support Community just this one, which is for game developers working on Intel Graphics. I can only comment on what the current driver release plans are and not on Intel product warranties/support. Those questions should be directed to the Intel Support Community.

Thanks for keeping a dispassionate/polite answer. I hope that someone reads my opinion and acts upon it in order to support openGL 3.3 in windows for intel hd 3000 IGP (2nd gen CPUs). It is a pity that you don't support all your processors with the same passion but you should support all your clients irrespective if they are 3-4-5 years old. We are still your customers and we expect to have a lifecycle support, same support in terms of driver development and duration provided by alternative graphics card companies (NVidia and AMD). If you don't we will buy cheaper cpus without any graphics support from intel. This is disappointing that you don't offer this service to us.

The typical OpenGL implementation ships as part of the drivers of 3D graphics accelerator processors (GPUs). However since (a very old) version of OpenGL, namely OpenGL-1.1, has been specified as part of the Win32 API every version of Windows since Windows 95B and Windows NT-4 includes a fallback software implementation that can be used in case no accelerated OpenGL version is available. However if any version beyond OpenGL-1.1 is required this fallback does not provide it.

However you can substitute the standard OpenGL interface with an advanced software rasterizer implementation: The Mesa project provides a version of their software rasterizer that provides even modern core profile OpenGL. The usual recommendation is to place these substitute opengl32.dll besides the .exe file of the program that requires it; in fact on modern Windows systems with system file protection it's actually impossible to replace the original DLLs without jumping a few hoops. The MSys2 project offers prebuilt versions of substitute DLLs.

Default VGA/VESA driver is also used for gfx card without propper driver. Such cards usually emulate EGA/VGA/VESA until initialized so windows default driver works for them.

In rare case you really got just EGA/VGA/VESA (which I doubt) in the old MS-DOS times there were OpenGL software drivers even for those. What you need is find OpebGL DLL for your platform like (opengl32.dll) and place it either directly to your executable or into known path like system32 ... In such case you should get at least OpenGL 1.0 support in SW rendering mode

Nevertheless:Many times the default gpu drivers installed by Windows 10 are missing many features. OpenGL support is usually absent, especially in older hardware. And if you are really unlucky the hardware maker could have totally deprecated your gpu from its list of supported Windows 10 graphics hardware.

You may be bitten by the difference between compat and core profiles and a certain proprietary driver not supporting core profiles.
Blender is known to have problems with amd opensource drivers on linux, no idea about citra.

You need to install Elastic Graphics driver in your instance. However the driver is not a device driver. Instead, it is an Amazon-optimized OpenGL library that detects the presence of and connects to the attached Elastic Graphics accelerator. When applications make OpenGL API calls for 3D operations, the Amazon OpenGL library re-directs those calls to the Elastic Graphics accelerator over the network, where the operations are processed and results are returned back to the library. Amazon EC2 manages the physical hardware, graphics device drivers, and the transportation of commands to and from your EC2 instance.

If possible, I highly recommend purchasing a more recent discrete graphics card (Nvidia or AMD), even a low-end version, for running PsychoPy. Nearly all driver related issues people request support for are due to integrated graphics drivers.

I used to be able to play Minecraft normally up until a couple of weeks ago. I think I know what's been causing the issue but I don't know how to fix it. A few weeks ago I've installed the Auslogics Driver Updater and used it for all the outdated stuff it detected, after i noticed this issue, i tried to rollback the changes with the backups the program did but it didn't seem to change anything. I've tried reinstalling minecraft and updating my drivers. I've installed AMD Radeon Software, AMD Catalyst Control Center and Intel Driver & Support Assistant and I've tried updating my drivers, and it says they're up to date. I'm not great with these kinds of issues so If you need more information about my computer or the issue that I should've said, please ask me.

I then restarted my computer. To reinstall the Intel one i simply went to Device Manager and uninstalled the Intel thing. Then, after restarting my computer i went to -driver-support-assistant.html , where I installed the driver it told me to. I've tried running all my installed mc versions to test if any worked, which unsurprisingly, they didn't, but when i tried running Wurst it gave me a crash report, hopefully someone can understand it and diagnose the issue.

Is the host computer using the AMD proprietary drivers or the open source drivers that come with Ubuntu 18.04? This might have a bearing in the capabilities seen by the virtual machine. The card that you have is not listed though in the following link.

Updating the VMware SVGA 3D driver and the host graphics driver might change the number of GL Extensions supported inside the VM. If ArchiCAD 22 is looking for some specific extension that is not listed, it is possible that is the reason why it is complaining.

The latest now to report on their SVGA Gallium3D driver is supporting OpenGL 3.3 in a compatibility profile context. Up until this week, the compatibility context had only supported OpenGL 3.1. Following recent commits, the version was bumped in Mesa 18.3-dev.

Workstation/Player 15 officially supports 4x supersampling and shader model 4.1 and DX10.1 inside Windows 10 VMs. On the Workstation 15 beta, the OpenGL Viewer shows 134 GL Context with a Windows 10 host with an Nvidia Kepler card. On Workstation Pro 12.5.9 with VMware Tools 10.3.2, a Windows 10 VM shows 128 GL Context with a Windows 10 host with an Nvidia Maxwell GPU. Supersampling in VMs is not officially supported in version 12/14.

On another note, does your host system have an integrated graphics (such as Intel graphics embedded with the CPU) with a separate discrete AMD graphics. I don't know exactly how that works with Ubuntu hosts. Intel implementation of OpenGL in their graphics drivers seems to be quite buggy (at least on Windows hosts). On Ubuntu/Linux hosts, Workstation/Player would use OpenGL 4.x to deliver the graphics capabilities in the guest VM.

If you have multiple graphics cards, you should be able to see in the vmware.log which one VMware Player actually uses. Maybe the Radeon is not being used at all and the weaker/less capable integrated graphics is being used.

You can see that there is the "GL Extensions:" count of 134 followed by a listing of the GL Extensions supported. It would have been better to have seen the before and after update of the Mesa drivers of this GL Extensions count. The other thread that had a problem with the NASA World Wind application was missing some specific GL Extensions.

Since you have an i7-6700K CPU, it would also have an integrated Intel HD 530. Depending on the EFI/BIOS of the motherboard, you might have an option to disable the integrated Intel HD. This will ensure that the discrete AMD graphics card is used for both the OS and for applications such as VMware Player.

This sounds like an issue with the driver for your (ancient?) graphics card. If it is still supported by the vendor, try to update that first. I have an Intel 620 integrated and an Nvidia MX150, both showing support for OpenGL 4.6 in GPU-Z

Failed to create OpenGL context for format QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, options QFlags(), depthBufferSize 24, redBufferSize -1, greenBufferSize -1, blueBufferSize -1, alphaBufferSize -1, stencilBufferSize 8, samples -1, swapBehavior 2, swapInterval 1, profile 0) .
This is most likely caused by not having the necessary graphics drivers installed.
