With heavy hearts, our family has said goodbye to Kimberley. A loving strong woman with faith until the end. Kimberley peacefully passed away at 12:45 pm on July 31, 2019 with her husband Cliff, her father Ray, and family and friends taking turns holding her hands, to comfort and express love which she returned as well. She is survived by her loving husband Cliff, her father Ray, and family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Birdeen, aunt Marnie, uncles Ed and Rex and her stepmother Noreen. She had a 3 year battle with non-smoking lung cancer. She will be greatly missed until we meet again in heaven.
They were so prompt on answering any questions and changing things. They were prepared and respected any religious decisions. The process was so seamless and made easy in such a high stress situation.
In the past 2 years Springfield has helped us through the death of my Mother and my Father. Their response and help allowed us to focus on the remaining family rather than worrying about details of the funeral and all the notifications that are required upon a death.
The atmosphere has been nothing but professional during times of grief. After the passing of my mother, the staff coached me on the next steps and looked after filling in all the government forms that I needed to sign, which took a huge burden off my mind at the time.
From the time I called to the completion of all the services, I received compassionate, attentive and professional care. There was a sense of caring from each staff member. I was turning over my Mom to their care and I felt very comfortable with everyone. I felt heard and never felt pushed into any decision.
I have always found the team at Springfield Funeral Home to be VERY caring, kind, considerate and helpful. I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks which funeral home would I suggest they use. No other funeral home I have dealt with even comes close to Springfield Funeral Home.
Government Travel Restrictions and Advisories: In advance of your stay and for your awareness, please review the relevant government travel restrictions, quarantine requirements and advisories. Also, you can reach out to the property management company managing your home for more guidance.
In some instances, availability may show despite local market restrictions being in place. This is usually because home rentals can take place for certain categories of guests. For example, the United Kingdom permits stays for critical workers, non-UK residents who are unable to travel home, interim stays whilst primary residences are unavailable, or people who are unable to move into a new home. Where restrictions apply we will validate the purpose for travel after the reservation is made.

Some vacations are planned to visit family. Other vacations are to see new sights. My summer vacation this year was a journey that combined both. In my hometown of Vetralla in central Italy, my sisters planned an 89th birthday celebration for my mother. With Covid travel restrictions easing, I planned a trip home with my adult son. The generational reunion was a joyous blessing for everyone. Our vacation also included visits to Lago di Vico, which is close to Vetralla, and Lago di Resia several hours away. Here are some interesting details about these two beautiful Italian lakes, with some photos from our journey.
The lake and reserve are popular among fishermen, birdwatchers, photographers, bicyclists, hikers, canoeists and nature lovers seeking a quiet atmosphere. Vacationers can stay in local hotels or lakeside campsites, and enjoy swimming, sailing, horseback riding and more.
Lago di Resia is a manmade lake in northern Italy, close to the borders of Austria and Switzerland. It is most famous for having one of the most unusual features ever seen in a lake: the steeple of a submerged 14th century church. When the lake water freezes in winter, visitors can walk to see the steeple up close.
And in 2020, construction crews temporarily drained part of the lake for repairs to the reservoir, revealing part of the demolished village of Curon, with stone steps, cellars and walls spotted in the rubble.
The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere is a not-for-profit organization that celebrates everything Italian by sharing stories such as this, and offering exceptional public programs: Language and cooking classes; art and photo exhibits; film festivals; opera luncheons and casino nights; Italian car shows and fashion shows; live concerts and theatrical performances; guest chef experiences and wine tastings; bocce and bingo (tombola); and much more. Casa Belvedere (house with a beautiful view) has established itself as a vibrant and buzzing cultural center in New York City. For more information, visit

On February 6th of 2022, Eduvijes (Vico) Torres Aguirre was called home to be with her Lord. Vico was born in Mexico in 1940 to Refugio and Guillermina Torres. In 1945, Vico's parents moved the family to Texas to provide more opportunities for their children to pursue a better education. At that time, Odessa's perennial oil boom was drawing workers and their families to the area. A journey of 42 remarkable years began when Vico married Nolberto Aguirre in 1955. Their love of family and shared dreams gave them immeasurable strength to build their lives and raise six children. Through their love for each other, their years were filled with faith, work and sacrifice. Their readiness to help others became a blessing to family and friends.
As a young mother, Vico used her steady resolve to face every challenge. Caring for a large family drew out her creative spirit. Self taught, she became an accomplished seamstress making wedding dresses, suits, and school clothes for her kids. Her keen gaze and clever versatility enabled her to make and design anything. The kitchen table became adorned with sugar flowers and intricate decorations until practice evolved into expertly made grand wedding cakes, dual cakes with bridges, 10+ layers each with exquisite designs. These are just a few of the many ways her talent and imagination enhanced her family's means.
In the early nineties, Vico lent her knowledge and insights to the development of the Associated Milk Producers, Inc. Consumer Services booklet. This publication became instrumental in helping food service workforces in meeting USDA dietary recommendations. Highlighting a career marked with distinction, Vico was nominated Food Services Department 1995 Employee of the Year. Managers, colleagues and employees alike lauded her for her fairness, helpfulness and dedication to children's meals; above all, they valued her friendship.
But Vico was not all work and no play. Throughout her life, she traveled with Nolberto and the children during summer vacations. They visited many spectacular national parks and created many treasured family memories. She loved to gather with family and friends for birthdays, weddings, graduations, and all festive celebrations. Her playful spirit always sparked those around her to laugh and enjoy life. She had a passion for horticulture and prized her collection of exotic plants. A special joy to her was the calm and serene beauty of the pine wood forests in the mountains. A woman of many interests, she read and liked to learn and expand her knowledge and enjoyed many hobbies.
She was wise, caring and always made stronger by her faith in God. Vico devoted a large part of her life to the church, in support of her Christian values. She served as church treasurer, Sunday school teacher, special activities chairperson and helped organize special events. As an elder, many members of the church came to her for counsel.
She always kept close relationships with her siblings and nurtured her children to live fulfilling lives. She spent as much time as possible with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through the years, she was always happy when they remembered her and came by to see her. To Vico, this was the full circle of love in action and a precious gift.
