Sahar,
On Saturday June 23rd, a teen lesbian couple was found shot in a park in Portland, Texas. Mollie Olgin, 19, died from her wounds but Christine Chapa, 18, survived and is currently in the hospital in serious condition. Vigils are being organized around the country for the couple.
Last week, the Massachusetts Commission on GLBT Youth held hearings in Boston and Holyoke to hear testimony about being gay in the Commonwealth. Among the stories was a youth from Springfield who talked about recently being beaten for being gay. His story was not the only one describing violence inflicted here in Massachusetts.
GetEQUAL MA, Join the Impact Massachusetts, and the Hispanic Black Gay Coalition invite you to remember all LGBTQ youth who face hatred, violence and discrimination in our society -- whether it is being rejected by their families, out on the streets, part of the prison industrial complex, or bullied at school.
Please join us this Friday at 7pm at the State House steps for a vigil and speak-out for the safety of all LGBTQ youth across the Commonwealth, the United States, and the world. Bring your friends and spread the word.
