Dear comrades, I had the wonderful fortune of having a 7-hour stop over in Singapore on the way back from cycling in Laos last week. Pics from that little sojourn with my ol' mate Dave Svoboda
can be found here (We had a great time - lots of happy smiling people, esp the kids, in each village, good roads, great scenery, from rice paddies to towering mountains, and pretty dang good tucker. It was stinking hot and humid, but perhaps that is just the 'Adelaide' coming out in me.)

Absolutely tops to catch up with Foina in Singers, at very short notice, I add, I only got in touch the day before. I realised in the cab to the airport (Fi: another 130km/h lunatic driver, telling me how soft Oz was cos no death penalty...) that I didn't get a pic of us, just you and Connie.
Thanks again for dinner (inc my first foray with stingray, which was superb), booze and outstanding company. I have ordered '30 Rock' from Bigpond DVD, i think i might be hooked! I can inform Qld based trust members that Fiona looks completely wonderful and has lost not an iota of her wit, charm and generosity. If you are thinking of a few days away in easy-Asia, Singers is surely the go!
In making this post I realise I started, but never sent, a post re the kids 4th birthday. Two incidents of note during the birthday week. As we were all waking up Jack said, 'How tall am I?'. 'You're tall, mate', I replied, 'you should be called Big Man'. 'And you should be called farty poo poo head', came the fast reply. Nice.

Later in the week the smoke alarm went off during story time. I commented, with my fatherly tone, the aim of which is to suggest - I am about to impart some words of wisdom, please listen. 'Now, kids, do you know what to do if they is ever a fire?'. The obvious response is 'Get down low and go, go, go. The re

sponse from son was 'Get out the marshmallows...' He's sharp!
A couple of pics from the 'birthday' party when I got home on the weekend.
Love to youse all. David, I hear you are heading o/s - enjoy and stay safe.

PS, not sure if the email gets to Paul - suspect QPS firewall block is working. Bum-mer! Perhaps someone can try forwarding?
