Dear comrades

It is months since the last blog post - no excuses for this, just piss poor. One day slog-a-thon is on the tele, Aus v India from the 'Gabba. Heals trying to increase the (natural!?) excitement of the game thorough verbal gymnastics. Wonder if you are at the game, Paul?

What news from me? All is well in the fine city of Adelaide. My new(ish) job still excites with lots of challenges ahead for the year mostly trying to find a way to deliver online info and services via an intranet to 5500 staff on an IT network which has been cobbled together over the last 2 years and is still rubbish, plus overhauling internet sites so that they actually provide info which the punters want. Radical!?

Lisa and the kids are all good. Jack is cricket mad. Tendulkar, Gilly, Symmo and Mitchell Johnson are his favourites and we all get nominated as various players and positions for each go in the backyard. Annabelle shifts between being a fairy and ballet dancer. She is as sharp as a tack and is still running rings around us all. Lisa is really enjoying her work at the consturction industry training board, learning something new about the industry everyday.

(Update - the little master just stepped on his wicket - for some inane reason they have shown the replay 10 times! Noffke on, pasted for 2 x 4 runs through and over extra cover. Not another Glenn Trimble is he?)

Cycling has been big on the agenda recently with last weekend being the highlight. Met my mate Tom from Rocky in melbourne and drove up to Bright for the Alpine Classic. The original plan was to try and knock off 140km up to Falls Creek and back. We got to Bright and figured we might not return in future years so signed up for the 200km route which included Falls Creek and Mt Buffalo. Kick off was 6.40 am on Sunday, about 10 hours later I cruised back into Bright feeling pretty good about life having conquered the course, and I wasnt even nearly last! I have serious bragging rights with my cycle chums back in Adelaide...

It wouldnt be a brains trust post without more sport. I still havent quite worked out the Singh/Symmo/monkey/dummy spit business. But in essence it seems we do know some things. 1. Punter is a goose and certainly not on my dinner gust list, but I think has been a bit harshly treated and blamed for over aggression of the Aus side 2. Singh is a grub who should count himself v lucky not to have been rubbed out for at least a couple of games. 3. the indian cricket board have behaved poorly with their 'overturn the suspension or we will go home' threat.
4. life will go on... 5. I love test cricket and have to laugh at those clowns who were claiming at the start of the summer that 'test cricket is dead'. W*ankers!

Will sign off now. Fiona, hope the move to Singapore went ok and look forward an installment sometime soon. Cath, didnt see you in the Oz day honours but its only a matter of time. Dave, Paul and Briggsy, intermittent phone contact over the summer has been wonderful, mostly cricket related, thank you. Hope you are all healthy and well. Promise some pics and other stuff sometime soon.

Hugs
Fergus

PS. I think it is getting away from Noffke here...!)
