Dear Trust

I hope this post finds you well. Much of my work involves finding ways to use online tools to help staff and customers etc, which is very interesting. So I have found myself mucking around with various blogs and other social media.

I kicked off pseudonym ponderings a few months ago as a place to dump work articles I read, but think I will shift the focus a bit to reflections about some much more important things - footy.

Check out the latest scribblings if you have time and post a comment. I haven't worked out a way to send an automatic email to people as soon as I make a post, but will keep searching.

Hugs
F

Gang
Sorry for the late night email but it probably tells you a lot about where my head is at!

If you can believe it, I said no to dinner and movie on a Saturday night in order to sit at my computer supposedly trying to finish my paper for the public leadership subject which is due on Monday. The paper is reviewing the biography of Andrew Fisher - the first Qld Prime Minister. Good read if you love Labourhistory and politics!

The plan was to have the Ashes on the ABC radio beside me so as to ensure I wasn't distracted by the television. Alas, that hasn't worked. Am shockingly distracted and now have the ashes on ABC and have just watched the last half of the Lions v Cats game.

What the ...? I don't mind AFL but just found my self humming the club song.

Sorry I haven't been in touch of late. I am currently trying to finish subject 8 with just 2 subjects to go now to finish the infernal masters, then the new structure was released at work (this is what happens when 5 departments come together and too many ego's get in the way) which involves me going to head up policy, performance and review for child protection, community and youth justice (and if I was told once I was told 10 times, it is a promotion you know!), then it was the news that my grandmother passed away wednesday before last 6 weeks short of 99 and now it is getting this paper finished before prepping for Dad's wedding in Toowoomba this coming weekend.

For those of you who haven't caught up on the news - Dad and Jan will be getting married next Saturday - just family invited but when the five taylor and partners and children get together with jan's five kids, partners and children then you realise we aren't talking about less than 60 people. The good news is that Dad is happy - the less than good news is that it just reminds me more than ever that Mum is gone (can you believe it is 3 years)

Aggh well - back to the bloody paper - am analysing whether his leadership style was more moral transformational or pragmatic transactional - don't ask - it is safer not to!

On a much more important final note - slacko's, when are we catching up?

Lovew
Cathy

Hi Cathy,
so sorry to hear about your grandmother.  Even when our rellos reach a "good innings" it is still such a shame to lose them.  My great-aunty died at 99, and I would have loved to have her around for another 99.
Hope the wedding was a success; sounds like your Dad has found companionship and happiness for a second time, which is good news for him.  So sorry that it brings these sad memories for you.  Maybe you are worried that it is somehow "wrong" to celebrate because there is a sense of moving on/ moving away?  I know this has happened for Roger and other friends when the remaining parent re-partners (this is even when you like the new partner of your parent).
anyway, good to hear from you and look forward to a Brains catch-up very soon.  You can deliver the inaugural "Former Prime Ministers in a Nutshell" Lecture.
love
fiona
