Hello!

We would like to invite you to become a member of PhyloPsy.org, a new online tool to help coordinate large-scale comparative studies on behavior and cognition.  PhyloPsy is an online marketplace for large scale collaborative studies to help researchers find collaborators with species/individuals they need for their studies as well as skilled phylogeneticists to help them analyze their data. It will only take a few minutes to sign up and join our new community.  You can join as an individual and if you direct a lab with animals, you can create what we are calling an “institution” for your center or lab.

Some of the website’s features include:

  • A platform for proposing large-scale collaborative studies as well as guidance on how to do so
  • A searchable database for proposed / ongoing collaborative research projects
  • A searchable database of species (using Latin names) which link to the profiles of the researchers that manage each animal population.
  • A searchable database of collaborators (including phylogeneticists)
  • A searchable database of institutions (labs, sanctuaries, zoos, and research centers) with profiles that include their animal populations and research policies
  • A mechanism to invite specific collaborators to join your team
  • A mechanism to request joining an ongoing collaboration

Currently, we are trying to populate the website and to encourage others to use it!  We are just getting started, but we will soon be proposing several projects on the site and are hoping that others will too.

Please feel free to sign up at phylopsy.org and to invite others to join – we are hoping to build a community so we can make big discoveries together. Please feel free to give us any feedback or ask any questions about the website by emailing he...@phylopsy.org

Thank you in advance!
