Dear Friends and Colleagues:

Georg Striedter and I wanted everyone to know that we’ve written a book called “Bird Brains and Behavior: A Synthesis”. I’ve attached the table of contents and the first 10 pages of Chapter 1.

If you’re interested in reading more, the book’s release date is August 5th. At that time the printed book will become available from various booksellers. If you have a US address, you can order it from PenguinRandomHouse.com using the discount code MITP30 for 30% off on August 5th, or READMIT20 for 20% off any time after publication.

Elsewhere, it is available through Amazon and major book sellers, basically anyone who stocks Penguin Random House books.

If you don't want a hard copy, an electronic version of the book will be available through MITP’s Open Access initiative, which is made possible by the support of many libraries around the world (see https://direct.mit.edu/books/pages/direct-to-open).  Once the book is officially released (5 Aug 2025), you should be able to download the chapter pdfs through the book’s official web page: https://mitpress.mit.edu/9780262552738/bird-brains-and-behavior/

We hope you enjoy the book and find it useful.

Cheers,
Andrew and Georg
