Hi guys,
recently I've started a new traning routine to improve my overall brain functioning and in particular to gain lucidity in my dreams, I'm writing (as the title suggests) to share my routine with you!
2. Soroban/anzan, this is a method of calculation that uses the ancient japanese abacus called Soroban. Anzan is the mental Soroban, you basically depict the abacus in your mind's eye and do calculations in your brain.
3.
Syllogimous v3 (
https://4skinskywalker.github.io/Syllogimous-v3/), you know this from the other thread it's a game
based on Relational Frame Theory and syllogisms. I use a timer of 25-30s on 4-5 premises. It forces you to visualized and keep weird pictures in your brain throughout the reading of premises. I think this is greatly improving my ability to see with my mind.
4.
Lite Dual N-back (
https://4skinskywalker.github.io/Lite-Dual_N-back/Dual_N-back/), this is
a Dual N-back, visual-sound pair, that's quite unique. It has only 3 cells, this greatly increase stimuli overlaps, plus the time between stimuli adapts to your accuracy. This last feature is particularly interesting as many of you pointed out that the efficacy of a Brain Training exercise is proportional to the fluency on it, and adapting the speed is a good way to increase fluency.
5. Audio Math which is a software I've written, I won't give the link as I'm probably the only person who knows how to use it. For me it's a way to improve arithmetic fluency, which is my very weak point.
7.
Drone Racing Leage (
https://thedroneracingleague.com/play/) I race the drone on the DRL game, this is useful to
train my spatial memory and my dexterity. I'm at a point in which a new map takes me a couple of laps on average to memorized, and I tell you these are very intricate and it was impossible to me at first to get them first glance, in the beginning I was always asking myself "what was the evolution/turn after this passage??". Great way to improve your spatial memory.
8. Reading books, this is perhaps the best way to crystalize some intelligence. I chose books that are outside the sphere of my competences so that I can acquire new information and that get a hold of concepts I new though of before. At the moment I'm reading 7 books in parallel, only one is for self development (I don't believe in self-help books).
9. Keeping a diary, this activity helps me manage time and think through what's going on in my life. I record pretty much every important thing with a timestamp. I'm thinking about making an app for this.
All the above except 7. and 8. are done in 15 minutes sessions everyday, possibly as the very first thing in the morning before work.
Points 7. and 8. are the ones I spend most time one these days, 1h each on average sometimes I may go up to 2 hours depending on my willpower.
Thanks for reading,
Fredo
