Hi all, I've been browsing through the posts on this group quite a bit, but I feel like we're all missing a concrete definition of what exactly we want to achieve. I feel like everyone is interested in improving general ability to solve complex problems, become more creative, have better working memory, etc, or such skills/cognitive abilities that can be widely applied in every day life. If we just decide to call whatever it is that we are trying to become, "more intelligent", then what exactly would that mean? Working memory seems like only a small part of this vast system, and according to some people here, the N-back seems to yield mixed results. There is also "complex working memory", concepts like neuroplasticity, important skills like pattern recognition, etc. . . Maybe it would be wise to come up with an ultimate list of such "skills" that would improve our generally applicable "intelligence"? And what types of activities would help us in improving ALL of these "skills"?

btw, a lot of these are just not yet well defined terms(we don't know exactly what they are), but lets just start by writing them all down :P

Thanks for your help everyone!

Starting with:

Working memory
Complex working memory
Pattern recognition
Executive function
Neuroplasticity
Long term memory
Mathematical/Logical intelligence
Emotional intelligence

Intelligence is accurately defined as "the ability to differentiate". How well you can tell difference and lack of difference is your level of intelligence.

Intelligence directly results in its possessor being able to identify relative importances between data.

Here is a primer on the bit about priority:

And here is the best way to increase human intelligence that I have found in my many years of personally researching the subject:
