Hello everybody,

I thought it would be a good idea to make a poll on some topics we
discussed, so I created a short questionnaire. Feel free to click the
link below and answer few questions. The results are anonymous and
accessible after you finish answering. I think the results will be
interesting and if enough people will take it, we can even do some
more statistics.

Awesome idea! that's also what I feel about brain training/supplements: we need stats, more data.
I'm filling it.

Now we have 28 answers, thats cool :) Two technical things - in
results, I can't see first 4 rows in "nootropics question", can you?
They are just blank. And second, I got 4 requests for sharing
(probably by mistake or edit attempt, because it is already shared for
viewving by anyone) - so I shared it once more explicitly for those
persons.

Where can we see the preliminary results?

I think you must have a setting wrong somewhere. When I click on your
graphic+basic statistics link, this is what I see, attached - just
'We're sorry, gwe...@gmail.com does not have permission to access this
spreadsheet.'

Well, the sharing was ok, but you a need special link to the graphic
summary, which can be generated only on confirmation screen after you
finish the survey. So now it's always generated, and lets hope its not
case-specific (I was not logged in when I got it):

Shouldn't we ask for iq before and after the dnb training in this questionnaire? ...So we can see what's the increase in iq according to different parameters, eg what's the increase for each group of 'length of training' (6 months of training, 1 year of training, etc.), ...but also for those who take nootropics, those who train only at dual, those who train at quad, etc.
I think this is the crucial question: does dnb work... and if yes on who, and how to maximize its benefits? We could have a big sample of people answering this question!

Also I want to point out that even just personal opinions about how dnb affected you in real life give very valid indications *when it's on a large sample of people*. this is actually the first time I see this 'wisdom of crowds' at work. it's the basis of wikipedia too, and here we can see it in a graph with the amount of votes for each opinion. I think this is great!

I thought of new tickboxes-questions for the 'how dnb affected you' section, so we can see graphs for them too on a big sample of people.
- improves your creativity?
- improves your social interactions?
- improves verbal fluency?
- alleviates anxiety?
- alleviates depression?
- improves motivation?
- improves your organization/ability to get things done?
- improves your tidiness?
- improves your grades?
- improves your performance at work? (how?)
- improves the quality of your relationships?

Polar thanks for this questionnaire it's really interesting to see the data and graphs.

We might end up not adding these things to the questionnaire, but I'm still throwing ideas/ brainstorming in just in case.

Basically we want to get information about dnb users on the things that might influence the efficacy of the dnb training--this in order to see who improved the most and why.

So the question is what could potentially affect the efficacy of the dnb training that's worth asking on the form? For now I see eventually: 1/the length and intensity of training are probably the most important parameters. And that's already on the form.

2/But also, dnb might affect some 'types' of people/cognitive profiles more than others. For example if you have a bottleneck in wm, maybe dnb training will resuscitate/potentiate other parts of your brain/intelligence. I was asking myself this question a while ago and it'd be interesting to see if stats/graphs can give us some answers. Maybe dnb helps/braings iq increase to ADD people more, for example. or dyslexics, or depressive people more. here are some potential

do you/others around you consider yourself...
- ADD
- ADHD
- dyslexic
- asperger or autistic
- anxious
- often sad or depressive
- having concentration problems
- having a wm deficit
- having a good wm
- having a good long term memory
- having a bad long term memory
- very verbal person
- rather non verbal person
- corresponding more to descriptions of 'right brain' stereotypes.
- corresponding more to descriptions of 'left brain' stereotypes.
- more kinesthetic
- more visual
- more verbal
- etc.
- creative
- tidy
- on task
- organized
- consciencious
- neurotic
- open to new experiences
- more introverted than extroverted
- etc.

maybe ask for profession.
and age.

It's a long list, but it's just tick boxes so it's fast to answer. And I think it'd be interesting to see who got a bigger increase in iq after dnb training. Certainly the one main influence is the length of training. But maybe your cognitive profile matters, and your age too. I think it's worth asking. What else could influence the benefits and iq increase of dnb training?

So far I see 55 entries in

I hope any members who have joined since will take the survey.

Yeah, I did some statistics when 40 people did the questionnaire, but
I'll do it these days again.
