I was read this post by Anon:

"Basically speed of working memory = speed of thinking (but there are some obvious exceptions of course. Example: when a word is on the tip of your tongue. In this case, the speed of recall from LTM is limiting. Or when you came up with the perfect counterargument a few days later. But these ones are really specific).

So probably you can say that in many tasks WM speed (speed of updating WM and speed of recalling from WM) ≈ thinking speed.

Apparently John von Neumann had one of the fastest WMs in history."

Wouldn't speed of working memory be directly related to your working memory capacity? Every time I have noticed myself improving in cognition after nbacking, I notice faster thinking. I believe this faster thinking is necessary to be able to hold more things in your working memory. It seems like your processing speed needs to increase for your fluid intelligence and working memory capacity to increase. What do you guys think?
