Hi,

I've been using Brain Workshop on my laptop.
Recently acquired an iPhone.

Which is the "best" (as in closest to Brain Workshop) dual n-back app
for the iPhone?

After a search in the forums I found some talk about these:
IQboost
BetterBrain
IQ Training

IQboost seems like the best option, however what immediately struck my
eye was that the AUDIO and VISUAL buttons are exactly in the opposite
sides of the screen as in Brain Workshop... I think this will
seriously mess with my brain if I can't change this in IQboost...

Hi,

Can I change the placement of Audio and Visual buttons in your
application?

Your app is great, though would you please add customizable settings
such as speed (i.e. seconds per trial/step, flash time (the time the
stimuli stays on screen)) AND
number of triakls (such as brain workshop which lets you increase or
decrease trials manually. Also it WOULD BE GREAT if you added color
and positional cues.

Hi,
I've been using DNB apps for maybe a year now,
Theres one called betterbrain (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/
betterbrain/id307922453?mt=8)
Which IMHO is the best there is currently. Why? It lets you adjust
settings such as : seconds per step/trial, letters to use, flash
time,
and has Aduio, visual, color and position cues! though I hate it
feedbacks you with Xs and "check marks" if you get a right or wrong
input.

On the other hand, the ibrain has better aesthetics but has very few
customizable settings, it doesn't provide color or position cues and
doesn't let you change time per step, flash time, etc. Would be nice
if ibrain would improve those settings too.

Best Regards.

It would be nice if someone were to make a list of all the iphones and
then tried to rank them; I link 1 or 2 iPhone apps in the FAQ but I
feel guilty about it because I know those are only there thanks to
being randomly mentioned early on.

I will say that BetterBrain is far better than IQBoost. IMHO.

Hi,

as promised here is the new version 1.4 of iBrain.
It now supports switching of the eye/ear-buttons (audio/visual stimulus)
in the settings menue.

It is available via itunes:
http://itunes.apple.com/at/app/ibrain/id382811736?mt=8
or, if already installed via the update section of the appstore.

all the best,
gerolf.

OK... I don't know how cool it is to rename a thread titled "What's
the best iPhone dual n-back app?" to "iBrain... new version..."
Maybe it's just me, but it sounds a little like going from suggesting
your app to advertising it and making a de facto pronouncment
regarding its status.
Like I said, maybe it's just me. But me also thinks it's a bad
precedent.

Yeah, please keep the original title. Thanks to Mag. Gerolf Scherr for
taking suggestions and updating the app, but I don't like spamming.

Hi,

by changing the message title I wanted to clarify that my post and the
contents of the message was about a new version of the app with a
feature suggested by so-good-looking and not about the question what the
best iPhone dual n-back-app is, so my intention was exactly the opposite.

I am doing this more or less as a small reference project for the iPhone
plattform so I don't want to spam about the app, i just wanted to inform
you that I kept my promise about the suggested feature.

feedback (by e-mail or in the group) would be welcome.

sorry if I disturbed you or annoyed the group.

all the best,

gerolf.

Maybe your post was about your program, but the whole thread is about
all dual n-back apps for the iPhone.
When you change subject, the new subject will be shown on the list and
the whole thread looks like it's about your iPhone app only. So please
don't change it (you have done it already twice now)
