Hey, I am training dual n back and syllogimous and have been seeing results, however I was wondering whether I could best train dual n back exclusively  for a month and then switch to triple n back. So for example:
August: dual n back
September: triple n back
Oktober: Syllogimous
November: quad n back.
Or train everything at the same time. So for example everyday do like 10 minutes of dual n back, 20 minutes of syllogimous and 15 minutes of quad n back.
In your opinion what method does lead to the best results after a year? The goal is brain functioning.
Sincerely,

Thomas

It's hard to tell without gathering proper statistics. Focusing on one mode gives you progress in that particular one but may impare your fluidity. I sticked to dual for 4 months and started quad just out of boredom. Then I've heard about Daniel (from Infinite IQ YT channel) taking off days. I tried that but immidiately felt fear of losing gains. So now I alternate between day of quad and day of dual. In dual day I someties also additionally train in single mode in position or sound, because I feel like my brain on some days is weaker in one of these modalities. Also in quad day I oftentimes train additional dual with collor and shape, because my percentage is low in these modalities when performing quad. All this gives me variety so I don't quit out of boredom and also I think it is important to train your weakest spots, because I have some intuitive feeling that this is important for me. And the rational thought behind that is "the harder the training the greater the benefits." I mean my sound and melodic memory is good, as well as for words, especially poetry, but training my weakest abilities I think would provide the greatest overall progress. I think I also should consistently train image streaming for synesthesia and greater connections between different sensory modalities, but I catched a very strong stamm of lazyassness recently.

Thank you  for your insights. I agree that for the benefit of motivation variation is definitely the way. It may also be that variation benefits the intensity: e.g. training one mode all the time may give more ease and less strain (even when increase the n level). I always experience greater intensity when switching between modes. On the other hand, focusing on one mode exclusively may be a great way to break through plateaus: breaking DNB 6 may be easier with only training DNB than mixing with Quad N back.
But as you mentioned this is all just speculation and no statistics. Anybody else who has experimented with sticking with one mode vs. multiple modes at the same time?

The brain only has two hemispheres and when multitasking like in dual n back. it splits the auditory task on one half of the brain and visual task on the other half of the brain. I've tried quad n back and triple n back after playing dual n back and I've found it has only made my focus worse. The best thing you can do is focus on increasing your n-back level and if you want fast results I've found not watching YouTube or passively consuming any type of content helps. Videogames seem to be ok as long as they're stimulating your brain.
