Thanks Norman

Here is an example graph made manually from a OpenStax block diagram.

It takes about five minutes to make one manually, but doesn't require
seeing the orginal image to make it manually, if you have a textual
description at least (that's the benefit of block diagrams).

I've attached it as a BRF and embedded it below. To see the version
below properly you will need a Braille display set to US BRL ASCII but
much better to view the attached instead. If sighted you will need fixed
width font but it won't make much sense without a SimBraille font. The
attached BRF is designed for a Canute (i.e. is 360 cells, 40x9).

openstax body and thermodynamics block d
a4 sunlight--- _ heat \\ a4energy
b4 plants----- _ p
c4 fungi/bact _ b4producers oop
eria/worms---- _ p p
d4 animals---- _ p \\ d4consumers
\4 left arrow- _ p p
o4 right arro- _ c4decomposers oop
p4 down arrow- _ heat

Would be interested to hear from Canute owners if the BRF makes sense on
their machine.

Hi Ed,

If I put it on a SD Card and put in the Canute and see what comes up?

Norman.

Forgot to add that I did labels in Grade 1 because I can never remember
more than a handful of the US BRL ASCII character set without looking it
up.

4 is full-stop, 1 is comma, [ is "ow", err... that's about it.

Actually I made a mistake on that last one so here it is again, with
correction (see attached):

openstax body and thermodynamics block d
a4 sunlight--- _ heat [[ a4energy
b4 plants----- _ p
c4 fungi/bact _ b4producers oop
eria/worms---- _ p p
d4 animals---- _ p p[[ d4consumers
[4 left arrow- _ p p
o4 right arro- _ c4decomposers oop
p4 down arrow- _ heat

Please, that would be great. I've not actually tried it on the Canute,
haven't got one to hand out and about, not in the workshop today.

Your opinions on how useful it is, how it could otherwise be presented,
and so on, would be helpful. In particular I know that some people find
the spacial 2D nature something they just get instantly, whereas others
struggle to follow it because they expect the content to be linear.

FYI, the format of that graph is key taking up left 1/3rd, followed by
spacial block diagram taking up right 2/3rds. They are separated by a
vertical divider. The top line is the title.

Ed
