Request for a separate branch for the beta release

Hello,

I have seen the announcement for the beta release on the project page, but I
haven't seen anything about the actual release. There seems also to be no
separate branch. I would like to request such a branch. This would allow me to
fetch the _current_ beta release source code from SVN. Alternatively you could
prepare a *tar.gz or *tar.bz2 (or similar) archive which I would use as a
reference where I got the source from.
When this is done, I'll start the process of uploading the package to Debian.

The release was postponed a couple of days. When it is ready I think
Joel will put it in a new *tag* folder.
