Hi. I read your post on MLA format and it made me wonder what technology you used to write papers.

    HI all,
    I hope everyone's doing well.
When it comes to writing essays for my English class, writing itself
can be time consuming and hard, but I sometimes feel like I spend more
time and energy on making sure that my final draft is in correct MLA
format and the Work Cited Page.
I use easybib.com for Works Cited, so it does not take forever; but I
always have someone sighted with me to make sure everything gets into
MLA format including the Works Cited page.
double spaced, underlines for book titles, indent for new paragraphs,
    etc.
Is there any way I can do this all by myself and check everything is
    done right?
    Miso

    Miso,
I wish there was. I personally haven't found anything that makes it
easier. In fact, I believe as an adult and someone who is blind,
sometimes you have to accept what you cannot do and spend your time on
your strengths. That is why I paid little attention to formating and
things of that nature with my papers in college. When I was done with
the writing portion, I would then turn to close and trusted friends to
help with things like MLA formatting or footnotes. If anyone has found
a way, please, please let me know. But like I said, I think its one of
those things that we have to learn is part of the "sighted world" and
sometimes the responsible thing to do is ask for assistance.

On a more entertaining note, I had a dream that I was at the Braille
Challenge last night. Random right? Apparently I loved the Braille
Challenge so much I now dream about it.

Personally, I use a laptop for my MLA papers. By the way, the Perdue
OWL (Online Writing Lab), is amazing. I love their website, the only
thing is, they have lots of information and you have to decide what
you'll need at that particular moment.

I type my rough draft into my Braillenote and then convert it to doc
file and do the necessary formatings on my laptop.
Yes, Purdue OWL has a lot of good information.
MLA itself is no fun but making sure it's done correctly is another
thing to deal with, since the screenreader I am using can't tell me
whether it's double spaced, how much indented, etc. (or i may just not
know how to let my screen reader to read that out loud for me)
Is JAWS able to do those kinds of things? like tell you whether it;s
double spaced, what font, etc.
