Hi Ejenta Team Members,
First of all, I am grateful for the excellent support and help in our Ph.D research project and now we are moving on towards our required targets using Brahms Model. I need to know the following concepts as I am working in a team having one programmer and other people to.
We are able to create Brahms Model for the work practice environment. I can see different activities in the Agent Viewer as an output, but my point is; can I see the activity start and finishing time on the world state, as it doesn't show the exact time and date of the activities as it is observed. For example some activity started at 8 A.M morning and some activity starts at 12:00 Noon, but the Agent Viewer shows its own timing, why, I simply want all the activities should be shown based on the actual timings observed in the work practice environment. Can we display exact timings and date on the Agent Viewer display as it is observed in the real practice environment. Agent Viewer shows its own timings and date.

Please explain to me, how can we do that.

Abid,

I am not 100% sure what you mean, but it seems that you are having trouble with showing the wall-clock time for an activity start and end. I am not sure if this solves your problem, but you can add a start date/time to the BVM when you start it. This way the simulation starts at the desired time, say 12am midnight, or 8am in the morning.

The parameter is the “-date” parameter:

-date <date and time> the start date and time for the sim "MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss zzzz"

Here are the parameters you can give to the BVM:

$ bvm
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: Using incremental CMS is deprecated and will likely be removed in a future release
Brahms Virtual Machine - Version: 5.2.16
CI Interface - Version: 1.12.9
Copyright (c) 1999-2012 NASA Ames Research Center. All Rights Reserved.
usage: bvm [-options] [<model>]

where options include:
-cf <config file> use configuration file
-vmname <vm name> name for vm to register in directory
-mode (sim | rt | drt) mode of operation, simulation, real-time or distributed
-date <date and time> the start date and time for the sim "MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss zzzz"
-time_unit <n> number of seconds represented by each unit of time
-cp <class path> appended search path for Java class files
-lp <library path> search path for brahms xml files
-es <class files> external services to be loaded
-ui display simulation control panel
-no_auto_start do not automatically start the model, use the control panel to start model
-no_auto_stop do not automatically stop the model when the simulation finishes, use the control panel instead

Note 1: virtual machine must at a minimum either get a brahms xml file
as a parameter or a configuration file for the vm to register itself
with a directory service for remote control by another component.
Note 2: the time as specified in the date parameter must be in
military time, the 24 hour clock. The zzzz represents the time zone.
The time zone must be specified using its full name, i.e.
America/New_York, America/Los_Angeles. For a full list see the
Calendar.b file in Models/brahms/base.

I hope this helps.

Hi Ejenta Team,

Thanks Dr. Martain, I am grateful for your kind reply. It seems we can only display the activities within 24 hours world clock but we can't display exactly the same activity date/time in the Agent Viewer display. I would like to confirm my perception by asking question once again.
My question is simple, for example as mentioned in the attachment, can we display exactly the same timings/date of each activity in the Agent Viewer?

Note: This is page 229 of Dr. Maartain Ph.D Thesis.

Abid,

You have to be more clear in what you want to do. What do you mean with "display exactly the same activity date/time in the Agent Viewer display?” What “same activity date/time”? Same date/time from your observation? Where do you want to display this time? In the AgentViewer timeline, or somewhere else?”

The BVM takes its start time from your CPU clock, if you don’t use the “-date” parameter. So, your clock will start running at the time/date you start your simulation. You need to line up the simulation start time with your “real world activity time.” Zooming in in the time line might show what you mean. If that is not enough, you will have to do this with print statements, or some other Java code.
