Hi Manish,

Further to our recent phone conversation, last week, I had re-forwarded all documents to you (Syed/Shitanshu had forwarded them originally to you).  I hope you received them.  We are waiting for these pending accounts to be cleared before we proceed with further consignments to Flipkart (last week we missed one).  More than this, we need to do a new vendor's agreement with Flipkart for Brahma Books (as different from Brahma Forces).  This is because new TIN nos.and VAT have been assigned to Brahma Books.  Once this new vendor agreement is done we will print an invoice book especially for Flipkart.  Please forward your Vendor Agreement to me asap.

Could you give me an indication as to when our past accounts can be cleared from Mumbai.

It was really nice seeing you both recently at Ruth Mehta's beautiful memorial service.

Neelam, my older son Arjun (also a Sanawarian with your daughters!)  is manufacturing some excellent quality notebooks/sketchbooks under the brand name Brahma Books.  I feel they would fit in beautifully at the Ananda Spa souvenier shop - especially as the environment there lends itself to sketching and writing a journal - he has called his series "Catch Inspiration".  They are high end handbound notebooks on excellent paper, including the world's best quality - Stonehenge, for which he is the sole distributor in India. A certain range is comparable with the Moleskine range in Europe.

Neelam owns the stores at Ananda in the Himalayas (a very upmarket spa).  Abha Singh merchandises for her stores - they are most upmarket and most appropriate, since it is an isolated Spa (among the best 10 in the world) in the hills above Rishikesh partly in a palace.  The acrylic display unit is more appropriate.

The prices are higher because the exchange rate has gone to Rs 55 per dollar and also there are duties, freight and other costs which make the prices substantially higher than the US prices, not to mention the margin offered to retailers and distributors. Therefore the prices in India will necessarily be substantially higher than those in the US.

In terms of margins please state your normal working structure so that we can consider it. We are open to offering a higher margin based on larger quantities.

Also we worked with you on Brahma Books before, would you be interested in stocking those as well. We have some very interesting display units (See retailer mailing) that would do well in your store.

If we are distributing Stonehenge through Himalaya in Mumbai then we would direct all inquiries to you and also would be able to offer a higher margin due to the increased volume.
