Dear Jatin,
It was really nice to see you again, and I really admired your initiative in organising Art for Uttarkhand.....it was really a meaningful gesture by the art community of Delhi. Ofcourse I was flattered that you still remembered me!
Jatin, I am writing to you personally for your advice and guidance.
My son, Arjuna ( who hung the Sikh Guru serigraph at this exhibition), manufactures a wide series of high-end sketchbooks (and notebooks) under the brand name Brahma Books. This began when he found it difficult to buy good quality writing and drawing paper for his own works - like you might for your poetry! - so he began a series called "Catch Inspiration". The attached files will give you some idea. He now markets a range of 100 sizes and styles of Brahma Books the quality of which has often been compared favourably with the European Moleskine. These are available at Khan Market stationers in New Delhi. The website is
www.brahmabooks.com.
He is also the sole distributor in India of the very high quality American Stonehenge art paper, often regarded as the best globally. The trouble is that none of the end users i.e. the artists themselves, know about it. Since I am helping him with his marketing, can you suggest ways (and leads) that I can use to get this information out among eminent artists like yourself.
Stonehenge is also excellent paper for printing presses which make limited editions of original artwork.
I wonder if you can use your good offices with the Lalit Kala Academy so that they can stock and distribute Brahma Books (notebooks & sketchbooks) and if you can suggest some direct leads.
With warm thanks,
Nina Kochhar
