The subject says it, basically. I would've worked out more of the
details this week, but my flu knocked me the fizzuck-out. Fever and
dizziness, nausea and inability to think, eat... too much sleep, too
much heat, not enough goodness to make up for it.
I don't want to get any of the women sick... especially the women I
really like.
But I'm feeling better. I can (sort of) form sentences, and I can type
with some proficiency... my eyes aren't completely crossed when
looking at the screen. That's different; for several days, my eyes
tried to focus on the computer screen but ended up focussing through
it. It's still possible to to read and "work" that way, but when
sentences turn into paragraphs... well, it's too easy to lose the
line.
I lose the line, backtrack and forget what it is that I was reading;
more importantly, I couldn't remember why. Without the "why," there is
and was no reason. So I had a "bad week."
Sorry Gayle.
Anyhow. I've been Plurking (
http://plurk.com/user/bradtastic) and have
met some people through it. A lot of it is simplified, carried-
conversations with current/old friends; Plurk acts as a cross between
email and instant message, like a forum. Each post is a thread, and
all replies thread-into it...
With email, sometimes it takes a long time to get a reply... it's not
an active conversation (most of the time), and if it ever is, usually,
both users switch to instant message or voice.
IM is semi-active; users have the ability and capacity (based on the
technology and culture) to carry multiple conversations. This can't
effectively happen via voice, and that's a plus-one for IM. But
sometimes, people afk. I do. A lot. It's slower than voice, and it's
easier to read someone's saved chat than it is to bug a line and
eavesdrop on a call.
Combine email and instant message and you get... well, Orgoo (http://
orgoo.com). Orgoo is literally email and instant messengers all-in-
one. Or you could just combine all of those email addresses in
something like Zenbe (
http://zenbe.com)... or Google. *(yuck... the
Gauth will own us all one day.... oops. Too late!)
Pownce is like email 2.0, Plurk is like e-ma-IM
on Plurk, Lilly found me, she read my stuff. I read her posts.
She has seahorses... and they're cool. And she has a podcast, and
wants me to talk about Bradtastics, my personal interaction dynamics,
outlook on life, thoughts on psychology, medicine, life, politics and
whatever else can fit into whatever amount of time I can dominate....
I mean, borrow. Err.. share. I guess.
The Art of Impression isn't "dead" or dying. The new forum exists, but
it's not really active. There's really no point. There's this, there's
Facebook, and really, I don't need to write to myself. (And this is
when you start drafting your reply)
I'm taking the time to finish the books and solidify some of the
material, and I'm trying to document usage of some of my secret-ninja-
stuff, "performed" by someone else. After all, this shouldn't be
"Bradtastics," it shouldn't be about me... it's about helping people
(despite the fact that I call myself a misanthrope from time to
time!).
