Information can be dangerous, "Mein Kampf" really has nothing to do
with it.
I was working on a more sophisticated reply to both the discussion
topic and Tracer's reply, and have since decided to save it for the
new, limited group. But I thought that I'd respond here for everyone
else, anyone new and those without the ability to join the new group.
I'm not in total agreement with learner/unlearner, life's just not
that simple.
I also disagree that "all knowledge is powerful, no matter the
author." Some people are idiots, some idiots "author," and their work
is utter trash and a true waste of time and paper. However, I don't
mean that to apply to the named names (above) in the "seduction
community." Their stuff "works," just not "that well" for that MANY
people. It's failure is evidenced by the constant, unending pursuit of
many, still struggling with the base-concepts of interaction.
People will pay $4000 for a weekend session promising to make them
"better" so long as they "follow certain rules and listen to (insert
something here)..." some of these "workshops" are decent, but most of
the participants come-away from the events barely-any-better than
before, still seeking that "hidden knowledge" that they want so very
much.
Some of the self-proclaimed "MPUAs" are cashing in on easy-money,
promising quick-results when there really isn't any "fast" way. It
takes years, most of the time, even for naturals... if it's not
"natural," perhaps it'll take longer. J-Dog talks about how it took
him SEVEN YEARS to develop his style and personality, sense of fashion
and game, and also notes that "there aren't many shortcuts" and that
he's "not a fan of shortcuts."
People may wish that they could just spend $4000, $8000, even $10,000
on some DVDs or an in-field workshop and MAGICALLY improve, but it
just doesn't work that way. That's one of my big issues with
everything else out there.
If you subscribe to Area51Lifestyle's email-blast, you'd see that
several times per week they mention DVD products and material, with
prices between $350 and $8000... they claim that people are buying it
up like hotcakes... that's a lot of money, and if the material worked,
why would these people need to buy ALL OF IT? Why do they still feel
like they need more?!
I intend to offer something more realistic, more real, less flash and
false-promises. I'm not going to charge $4000 for the promise of a
three-day magic turn-around. I'd rather make little-to-nothing,
charging a small monthly fee and ensure that people are benefiting. I
don't want members to regret that they blew their savings for a
pipedream, and that's why my materials won't be priced at wallet-
emptying amounts.
