If you are a member of this ever-growing community, you most likely
know at least a little bit about pick up, or possibly even misinformed
about its inhabitants.

Unless you are misogynistic (see article:
http://groups.google.com/group/bradtastics/web/the-unacceptable-outright-misogyny-of-others),
here at Bradtastics we welcome you with open arms. You are here to
improve your skills with social dynamics and in general to improve
your life, a wonderful endeavor that feels awesome when your efforts
come to fruition (trust me, I know the feeling).

I believe there are two types of students. I hesitate to use "PUA",
because Bradtastics is not just about picking up women, it is about
improving your lifestyle in general. Case in point, Mystery has some
of the hottest women in the world in his phonebook, but he's still a
miserable depressed wreck that can't keep a girl for more than a few
months at a time. But I digress.

The first type of student is the Learner. If you have stumbled upon
this with absolutely no knowledge, only that there was a method that
exists somewhere that would enable you to never be without a beautiful
woman, then you are the Learner and you can start fresh with
Bradtastics and never have to worry about "other" methods.

I believe that Learners are rare. More common are the second type of
student, the Unlearner. This is the student that has read the Mystery
Method, Dave D., Ross Jeffries, the whole bit, and has come here for
more. The best course of action for the Unlearner is just that-- to
Unlearn. Along the way, they have most likely absorbed and adopted a,
to a certain degree, some level of misogynistic attitude towards
women, or techniques that don't necessarily work, or even a certain
fear of running the material they learned because of moral/ethical
reasons. These issues can be addressed through Bradtastics, so long
as the students' motivation for learning game is acceptable.

Here's the point of this discussion: to get YOUR opinion. What do YOU
think? Do you believe it is better to come as a Learner and start
from scratch with Bradtastics? Or do you believe it is better to
learn other things first to get a feel for what is out there and come
to Bradtastics to "unlearn" the bad things?

I can't wait to read your responses!

Does reading Hitler's Mein Kampf make you a bad person?

The mPUA's material is the absolute pinnacle of its field that helps
men shatter their social stagnation with women. Not only are they from
the men whose name is on the material but rather a collection of
methods used by many self-proclaimed PUAs. So does studying or reading
their material make you a bad person? In my opinion, absolutely not
but practicing it creates a surge of conflicts.

With my previous girlfriend I figured that using mPUA stuff during</
i> the relationship would be ok. It turned out that there were times
when I treated her horribly and did things I'd never want to do again
during a relationship. It helped me in "picking" her up but the times
I practiced PUA stuff during a relationship, it failed miserably.
Realizing the severity of my mistakes I realized that mPUA stuff
failed to teach me how to handle a relationship.

In my opinion if one were to study mPUA material, I don't think it's
really a bad thing but realize that it would conflict with what we
would eventually learn here. mPUA material is is more than likely
going to be different than what Brad would teach but if you feel their
stuff is great and has helped you get what you want thus far in life,
don't feel pressured to dismiss it automatically. Just think twice
before you preach Mystery Method/Venusian arts/Cocky & Funny stuff
here because your ass would be chewed out for previously stated
reasons. Most of us are aware of that stuff and we come HERE for a
different, more respectable avenue towards learning about women.

Knowledge is powerful, no matter the author. So Grill I think it's
perfectly fine for a well-season PUA/APUA that has studied mPUA
material to be here and unlearn its misogynistic/chauvinistic
attitude, as long as he/she is looking for another way to improve
their dealings with women. That way when they are out in the field,
they have a variety of options and styles to pick from and not just
one.

Information can be dangerous, "Mein Kampf" really has nothing to do
with it.

I was working on a more sophisticated reply to both the discussion
topic and Tracer's reply, and have since decided to save it for the
new, limited group. But I thought that I'd respond here for everyone
else, anyone new and those without the ability to join the new group.

I'm not in total agreement with learner/unlearner, life's just not
that simple.

I also disagree that "all knowledge is powerful, no matter the
author." Some people are idiots, some idiots "author," and their work
is utter trash and a true waste of time and paper. However, I don't
mean that to apply to the named names (above) in the "seduction
community." Their stuff "works," just not "that well" for that MANY
people. It's failure is evidenced by the constant, unending pursuit of
many, still struggling with the base-concepts of interaction.

People will pay $4000 for a weekend session promising to make them
"better" so long as they "follow certain rules and listen to (insert
something here)..." some of these "workshops" are decent, but most of
the participants come-away from the events barely-any-better than
before, still seeking that "hidden knowledge" that they want so very
much.

Some of the self-proclaimed "MPUAs" are cashing in on easy-money,
promising quick-results when there really isn't any "fast" way. It
takes years, most of the time, even for naturals... if it's not
"natural," perhaps it'll take longer. J-Dog talks about how it took
him SEVEN YEARS to develop his style and personality, sense of fashion
and game, and also notes that "there aren't many shortcuts" and that
he's "not a fan of shortcuts."

People may wish that they could just spend $4000, $8000, even $10,000
on some DVDs or an in-field workshop and MAGICALLY improve, but it
just doesn't work that way. That's one of my big issues with
everything else out there.

If you subscribe to Area51Lifestyle's email-blast, you'd see that
several times per week they mention DVD products and material, with
prices between $350 and $8000... they claim that people are buying it
up like hotcakes... that's a lot of money, and if the material worked,
why would these people need to buy ALL OF IT? Why do they still feel
like they need more?!

I intend to offer something more realistic, more real, less flash and
false-promises. I'm not going to charge $4000 for the promise of a
three-day magic turn-around. I'd rather make little-to-nothing,
charging a small monthly fee and ensure that people are benefiting. I
don't want members to regret that they blew their savings for a
pipedream, and that's why my materials won't be priced at wallet-
emptying amounts.
