Hi everyone, I received this request from Malinda Clatterbuck seeking testimony about how fracking has affected you. You would testify in front of the PA Supreme Court to help defend Grant Township, Indians County’s law banning waste injection wells. Please reach out to her if you are willing to help - Alex
Melinda Clatterbuck
We are looking for people who want to tell their story of how they have been harmed by the fracking industry in PA.
We are representing Grant Township, a small rural town in Indiana County, PA, that passed a law banning the disposal of fracking waste. The case is in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. We will be defending Grant's law, as well as showing how the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has failed to protect Pennsylvanians from environmental harm. The case is set to go to trial this October.
Under the PA Constitution's Environmental Rights Amendment, everyone has the right to a clean and healthy environment. DEP has a duty to protect that right - and the environment itself - but has repeatedly failed to do so.
If you are interested in telling your story in court and helping to secure a better environment for all Pennsylvanians, please let us know as soon as possible (by May 28) and we will be in touch. If you are unable to tell your story because of a non-disclosure agreement, we'd like to know that too.
