Send Your Letter To Army Corps, PADEP
and PA Legislators: Stop Flurry of Gas Pipelines in
PA
Send letter your letter by clicking HERE
Pennsylvania is about to have an onslaught of shale gas pipelines
converge on its doorsteps in the coming weeks and months that will
open up all of us to more harmful climate change impacts.
Please contact the state and federal agencies to urge them
to not issue the pending permits.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has rubber
stamped and certified these gas projects (with exception of Mariner
2 which is a natural gas liquids line) but in many of these large
linear projects state and Corps applications are still being
reviewed due to their immense impact and harm across large areas of
the state. Please take a moment now to write a letter to the
Army Corps of Engineeers and the Pennsylvania DEP (PADEP) to urge
them to not issue the Corps Section 404 Permits or the PADEP Chapter
102 and Chapter 105 permits for these high pressure gas pipeline
projects. Some of the proposed pipelines slated for
Pennsylvania include: Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) Orion
Pipeline, Transco Atlantic Sunrise Pipeline, Sunoco Mariner 2, TGP
Susquehanna, TGP Triad, and the Empire Pipeline Northern Access
Project. PennEast Pipeline, another planned pipeline with a
controversial route, just received 401 certification this week too
and if planned would be built in 2018. All of these
proposed pipelines would cut across vast areas of the Commonwealth
bringing pollution. Send a letter today.
